March 24, 200917 yr Simple: Don't boost melee and boost mage and/or ranged. Who cares if the whip makes fight more exciting? So what? Melee is already powerful enough to be "exciting". And something being exciting is just your opinion. You might find "A" interesting and exciting and I might find it not so. And btw, you saying "mage needs a serious boost" doesn't reflect in the weapons. Why keep posting stuff no one will care to read, since you can't even WIELD A WHIP. March 28, 200917 yr I'll try and drag this post away from the flames and back on topic. F2p melee doesn't need any improvements at this point. Range and mage should be improved onto a close par with melee first; otherwise there will be much more rants about melee being so much over-powered compared to the others. In my opinion I wouldn't mind yew bows becoming F2p or maybe some better offensive spells. Also snare is a must. Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.

March 30, 200917 yr Then why is your melee stats the highest then? Hypocrite. Magic is so weak its not worth it training it high and getting owned by some stupid meleer which mages were "supposed" to own. You shouldn't even upgrade melee its overpowered enough already. In your perspective: E.g. Mage is power 6, Melee is power 10 and ranged is power 10. So you think melee is too "boring" and you want to make it even more overpowered so you introduce a melee weapon "dread whip" that increases melee's "power" by +2. Then, just to please the rangers and mages, you add a saradomin staff that increases mage's "power" by +2 and a bow that increases range's "power" by +2. So who's still at the bottom? mage: 8 "power" Melee: 12 "power" range: 12 "power". Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing!

March 30, 200917 yr First off, I believe you've posted in the wrong forum, next time try the "Runescape Bugs and Suggestions". As for your suggestions, 1) I don't pk much, so I'm going to leave that one alone(Though the max hit in F2P with a 2h is 31). 2) Again, I don't pk much, so I'm going to leave it alone. 3) You are incorrect. The most expensive F2P item is the Party Cracker, at a whopping 681.9 million middle G.E. value. You seem to have forgotten about all the rares. Personally, I don't think that F2P needs a new quest. I'm a level 113 F2P'er and I really don't think that we need a new quest or new items. I'm perfectly fine with rune and green d'hide. For the most part I feel F2P is fine, and doesn't need updates. max hit at 99 is 32, yes i have done it rarely but it happens oh and if you have zerk shield charged and rune gauntlets charge with b axe im pretty sure its 32 aswell ]

April 11, 200917 yr Hey all, I've recently seen quite a few people complaining about that status of certain parts of f2p and the solution that people say is (almost) always the same: give f2p old members items. Now some mems don't like that idea much, but here are a few suggestions for f2p. 1) We need something to k0 with for the level 70-100 range. Sure, those few times when you manage to land a 25-26 k0 with a r2h are great, but as of now, pking is a waste of food and pots because as soon as the fight turns bad, run or telly. I agree, but then again I don't see... Maybe Crossbows with no special bolts and a slower speed? and no shield? Like one of those crank up crossbows... 2) Mage needs a SERIOUS boost. As someone's sig said, f2p needs a triangle, not a line. At higher levels probably. At lower cmb elvels no. Just is a fine line you run. 3) I personally would like useful items to spend my cash on. Currently, the most expensive useful item in f2p is...... the rune platebod or 2h at about 60k each. Totally agree. I'm f2p atm and I have 2m, (About 12m in p2p assets) and still can buy full rune like 10 times. So what would you think about implementing a new quest, based along the zaros line, for f2p, aimed at f2pers 70+. I actually have a lot of ideas for such a quest, with 1 new attack option for each part of the triangle. Each would have a spec, but you have to finish the quest to use the weapon/spec off the island. The weapons would be: Dread Whip: Basically, the abysal whip for f2p. Maybe like a battleaxe stats at the speed of a whip. The spec would be a 7-10 second bind and teleblock. Throwing something.... I'm thinking 3 bladed knife. Hits about 20,21 at 99 range and the spec would reduce the opponents armor significantly. Staff of Sara: Able to cast a new spell (lightning probable)... hits up to 22. Good thought but might be overpowered, they'd have to do balance testing >< Discuss? f2p range is a great damage dealer, but 18 max hit, although constant, won't exactly be koing in pvp worlds. Well, best food being swordfish (I really hope >.>) it's hard to keep up. However if they want to tele as long as they are quick with the mouse keeping their health above 25 they are KO proof anyways... Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

May 20, 200917 yr umm...why would FTP sara strike have a max of 22? Our without charge is only 20 max. You'll need a high lvl cap for that spell. "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap

Magic has more uses than just Fire blast. Andi it's cheap if you know what you are doing. Don't make up statistics. "cheap if you know what you're doing". Nice fail. Melee is FAR cheaper. Even range is much cheaper in comparison. The primary use for magic is combat. Jagex already made that clear when they updated RSC to RS2. "Make up statistics"? Why don't you go and try f2p magic and see whether it is worth it before talking crap. Its not worth the price paid to use at all. Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing!

Why don't you go and try f2p magic and see whether it is worth it before talking crap. Its not worth the price paid to use at all. I care to disagree. I believe that (In F2P at least) Magic is not primarily used for combat, but instead used to supplement and make easier one's everyday goings in RS a bit easier. Take for example the most used magic in F2P, teleports, used simply to get from one place to another much faster, there's high alching; something used commonly to pro-long camping at monsters. Superheating ores isn't a terrible way to get low cost (or even profitable) mage and smithing experience. In fact, I would say that outside of Fist of Guthix, Magic is rarely used in combat at all. Also yes, it's true; training magic is F2P is quite useless past the level needed to High Alch and to teleport to all F2P locations. The only real purpose (in F2P) of training the magic skill to be be more effective when using it in combat, or when blocking against magical attacks. Do note that I am talking about Magic in F2P specifically. 100% F2P99 Defense, Tuesday February 10th 200999 Attack, Tuesday May 26th 200962,189th to get it

Magic's main use is SUPPOSED to be combat, and it has a VERY VERY important side use, and that is to supplement and make easier everyone's everyday goings in RS. In recent years, however, magic has evolved (EDIT: devolved) such that the secondary use of it (though still important) has become like the main use, and also overshadowing it. This is due to the fact that f2p magic is useless AFTER lvl 50-60 combat and above and costs incredibly huge amounts of money for what it does. I think you mistook magic's main use to be to supplement and make easier everyone's everyday goings in RS. I don't blame you. It seems that the prevalent use for magic these days is to teleport, etc, not combat. Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing!

It seems that the prevalent use for magic these days is to teleport, etc, not combat. Ehem. Magic is not a supporting skill, but anyways do the mage pures get any kind of loot these days? No of course not if you're a pure mage and haven't done any kind of quests..with your main you do get spare loot..But if you PK with a clan/team, Mages are asked to snare, teleblock, anything which prevents your enemy from doing specific actions. That's about it then. Magic is also the slowest of all classes. If Jagex WOULD tweak Magic so that you could hit much faster and accurate with spells when you achieve certain levels. Maybe you would get faster and accurate starting from 50-60, and it would be like the Runecrafting Multiple Essence table..2x, 2.5x etc. Rangers get much more loot because they are fast. Yew bows and Rune Arrows in F2P wouldn't hurt us rangers. And the mage would get the contemporary spell book (sees_all1's IDEA) and the accuracy-speed thing I suggested.

So...you disagree that magic should be made a combat skill? Yes I agree that Sees_all1's idea is probably the best for mages. I also agree about the increased accuracy, but the speed isn't really that necessary (some people would say that it makes it easier for mages to do KO combos). Also, an increased level in magic should also increase max hit. It won't affect most Ancient Magick spells much, since they're so close to lvl 99 mage, their max hit will probably EDIT: I am a strong believer that magic MUST NOT be a supporting skill.
