killerbeer0
i doubt he will, i bet it'll use the same name system as funorb, meaning if you have a runescape/funorb account, you've got a mechscape name as well. This. Definitely. And that means I'll have a Mechscape main on my pure and a mechscape pure (if those end up existing) on my main. OH S***! He/she/it is back! Star_Fox
my best bet is it'll decrease slightly, but increase again when the new fame dies down.
Ravenkana
I think Mechscape will be detrimental to Runescape. Not because Runescape will lose a large amount of population to it, but because I believe the game won't be very good. It's new territory, Jagex may fumble with the motif and, let's face it, Runescape got lucky. Mechscape, in my own opinion once more, probably won't. This won't be immediately bad for Runescape, but, after investing all that money in a flop, Jagex is going to need to recoup their losses. They'd do that by either a. firing staff, b. cutting wages causing the best of the best to look for jobs elsewhere, or c. increasing membership fees. In a. players get less content, with b. players get worse content, and door number three rewards players with a higher premium. But then, this is just how I think it'll play out. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
Everkenezer
I dont see it having the success as runescape. no doubt ill play it, but i dont see myself liking it. futuristic mmo's do not bring in the base as fantasy. name one futuristic mmo that has had the same publicity as RS, WoW, GW, etc. if it is skill based like RS, i might get into it, but in the end, i just dont see it. the last sfmmo i played was eve trial, just wasnt tasteful. 99 Fishing
Blutters
[hide=THIS.][/hide] RuneScape is the only MMORPG I'll ever play.
Returned3
You fool! Originals > New Breed If Mechscape is all about robots fighting, I can honestly say that I will not be playing it for long. I have never been a fan of transformers and I never will. I'm personally hoping it's similar to Runescape with just different content. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down! Omali
I hope the experienced and generally nice players stay, and all the noobs filter over to Mech in a futile attempt to be the new zezima Taking bets on zezima being the first name taken? Taking bets on every single letter name being taken by 1 person ;) It will use a 'Jagex Account' like FunOrb and RuneScape are linked. Bets on how much Mech&RS&FO will cost together? \: 12 USD a month. That works out to 5 for Runescape, 5 for Mechscape, 2 for FunOrb.
Zillah
I may try Mechscape when it comes out but as others have said, if it's all about robots I can't see me playing it for long. I would imagine there will be an initial influx of rs players to it when it first starts out but I think most will come back after the newness wears off. At one time, Jagex indicated that Mechscape would be more geared for older players so that could be a factor as well, although that's what the new CEO has said about rs, too. I know I have a fickle heart and a bitterness and a wandering eye and a heaviness in my head.
Zierro
It completely depends on the gameplay. If we're looking at a fresh and exciting game like how RS was in it first came out then you can bet that the RS population will decrease. If it's nothing but a cop-out based on RS then they won't get many players.
Resonae
I don't see all too many people leaving RS... they fear change from what I've seen :P I *might* try out MS... damn Microsoft nevermind I probably will not try it at all. Maybe I'll look at the homepage. MR. OCTOPUS BEARD DISAGREES! No, THAT's what she said. Wanna know how to keep an idiot busy? Read below.Wanna know how to keep an idiot busy? Read above.
