Lateralus
I have a great fondness for American history, I find it fascinating. I also have a great respect for the principles of American politics. The practice can be a little iffy at times (but still very interesting) but I think the American Constitution is a fine document. And the military naturally commands respect. I've liked all the American cities i've visited; New York, LA, San Diego, Vegas, Phoenix. In short I could probably be very happy to move to America and live there. Agreed. Also, Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson are two of my heroes. I love New York. Living in Manhattan is a little Bohemian dream of mine. La lune ne garde aucune rancune. WoodenFruit
Idk why everyones obsessed with Scotland... Kilts were invented by the Irish but the word 'Kilt' is Danish. The bagpipes are ancient and were probably invented in Central Asia. They are mentioned in the Old Testament and in Greek poetry in the 14th centurt BC. As for Haggis, porridge and whisky... Haggis was an ancient Greek sausage. Oat porrige has been found in the stomachs of 5,000 year old Neolithic bog bodies in central Europe and Scandinavia and whisky was invented in ancient China. It arrived in Ireland before Scotland and was distilled by monks ______________
Racheya
I know this could make me sound like a right... I don't even know what... but I love Japan (not just because of the anime btw). They have a great respect for traditions and history and all that stuff. It just seems so much different to England where the only tradition is chippy on a Friday night. England isn't all it's cracked up to be, the only thing I really like about the place is our language and some British accents can be hawt (Mine aint, Fred Dibnah anyone?). I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].

1_man_army
Credit goes to Adam Smith who is Scottish, and my economics teacher, whom I respect who is also of Scottish origin. Adam Smith is from my neck of the woods (Fife) which is ironically one of the politically furthest left areas in all of the UK (considering both Adam Smith and Andrew Carnegie are both Fifers). Fife is so far left that even during the 90's (i think) we still had the last 2 remaining communist councillors in the UK. Plus there is a nearby street called Gagarin way. In fact, there is an Adam Smith college here and in a form of protest at the colleges name, the student union named themselves the Jennie Lee students associate (after a socialist MP). He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
Blingkachi50
I respect other nations and their cultures, but nationalism can almost never cause anything but conflict. [blingkachi50]
The Dark Lord
I'm pretty proud of the US, which is my country. I find it sad that it's been going to hell within the last 50 years though. We are losing our heritage because of mass immigration, people are losing their homes and their jobs, political correctness is destroying our freedom of speech, religious radicals are ruining America's image and politics, and both political parties argue like idiotic children over unimportant issues. As far as other countries, I might appreciate British (even when England and Scotland were separate) history because it is rather vast. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

Cool. Have you read or heard of the Wealth of Nations? Funnily enough he actually studied moral philosphy and the nature of human ethics before becoming the father of economics. Interesting stuff.

1_man_army
Have you read or heard of the Wealth of Nations? I know of it and I have a rough grasp of what is in it but it isn't something I'd consider reading personally as I'm not that interested in economics. warren211
If I had to be proud of any country other than my own, it would be Finland. Finland: Be afraid, be very afraid. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.
