Another theory:

 

 

 

What if by scopes it is a reference to the real life trial of John Scopes about teaching evolution in school. If this is the case maybe it's saying a mahjarrat will evolve, maybe to godhood. What if the sacrifice isn't the weak one, but the strong one? Mahjarrat sacrifice the strongest mahjarrat so they can go join the gods, in turn that mahjarrat helps the mahjarrat still alive. That could explain while lucien was trying to get the stone of jas and the staff of armadyl. I'm guessing maybe they'd have to fight the gods so only the strongest gets to go.

The Scopes trial isn't exactly recent news. It was back in the 1920's if I remember correctly.

 

No offense, but I cannot see it having to do with the trial of John Scopes. I just see no reason to connect them other then the coincidental name; a name which simply has too many other meanings.

 

 

 

Besides, sacrificing the strong mahjarrat seems rather....difficult.(S)He wouldn't be very willing, I'd imagine...And the mahjarrat don't seem like a group of people that work together, unless it's something that mutually benefits them both.

 

 

 

I wonder if the scopes mean the Wise Old Man? Watch his telescope, learn what he's going to do before it happens...But it probably has something to do with the mahjarrat, and I have trouble seeing the Wise Old Man having something to do with them. He seems quite in denial about their very existence.

 

 

 

I bet this Ritual coming up is the one where Lucien is supposed to turn into a God. A ritual that we will (hopefully..) stop.

Going out on a wacky theory here. I thought zamorak was a god and then wouldn't need to be brought back. What if the actual zamorak failed to reach godhood. What if it is zaros calling himself zamorak? Or a fusion thing of zaros and zamorak?

Red Raktuber is probably a reference to the Red October which was a russian submarine used in THE COLD WAR. and the fact that it states "flies at midnight. (Well, maybe not 'flies')" is almost a clear reference to penguins. the hats might refer to the underwater mogres u meet in rfd pirate pete part.

FWIW, I was working a clue yesterday. Many of you probably have seen the emote clue that asks you to Panic in the "heart" of the haunted woods. (The ventricle of darkness?) Anyway, while on my way there yesterday, very near the "heart," I saw a penguin spy. I don't usually do penguins, so I don't know whether that's a normal spot, but I've done that clue many, many times and never seen a penguin before.

 

 

 

Also, "sleeps with the fishies" seems straightforward to me. This is one of the most famous lines from the classic American movie, "The Godfather." So isn't this just another reference to the fairy quest line, where the godfather is a major character?

The part about watching the scopes probably refers to the Wise old man. If you use cheap runes on him (I tested fire runes) he says "Oh I love runes! I'll take some of those off your hands" (or something to that effect) and takes like 5 of them. I tried blood runes but he just says "Oh yes, runes are very useful, I like them a lot!" (or something to that effect) so I belive since he robbed the bank maybe he's planning to rob the wizard tower for their runes or talismans so he can make his own or something of the sort.

 

 

 

OR! to really stretch it, maybe he's only doing these bad things these days because he's under the control of Zaros and a future quest will somehow entail Zaros leaving the wise old man's body (revealing it was simply a host body, chosen due to the wealth of knowledge and skills he had) and wreaking havoc on runescape.

So until you work for jagex and are able to give well written cryptic hints about future updates, don't try to get creative on your own, mmk?

Either way, not everyone has the mental capacity to work out random anagrams every three words, and some people get annoyed trying. If you establish a reputation for yourself as being the annoying guy trying to be clever, well let's just say your welcome may be less than standard.
