April 15, 200917 yr Why do they risk getting banned? I just really feel the need to explain this. There is a big difference between the bug abusers, and the people early on who weren't fully aware how potent the "glitch" really was. Early on, no one really knew what exactly was going on, except the people who first discoverered it and played with it before it spread. At about midnight saturday-2am Sunday(2hours), my group of friends at least, didn't really know how common these DFH and DFS drops really were when doing this "glitch." By the time we found out, I made about 2mil, and one or two people got a DFH or DFS as reports started comming in to us that people were making like 20m. All of our "This is Shady-O-Meters" piqued. We all panicked and stopped. I'm assuming that as the hours went past, it was more and more obvious that it was bug abuse. The thing is, it wasn't OBVIOUS bug abuse for the first... I would guess 2,000 people. For example, it was obvious that blood runes were not meant to be removed from BA. It was also obvious something was wrong when you could just keep clicking and getting XP from the penguins glitch. Many people "tried" the penguin glitch, but not many "abused" it, since it was obvious. Jagex has been about as cryptic as the chaos elemental when it comes to explaining exactly how PvP potential works. A hint here or there, but only a few really solid pointers. Also, you didn't really know the glitch was even working until one of your friends got a DFH or DFS drop, or if you heard the very early reports from the clans that discovered it themselves(I did not). There is no "Drop potential" value you can check, like you could have seen with the Penguin glitch. Then out of the blue, for the people who tried it, it worked *too* well. I personally made 2m and stopped. A friend or two made 10-20m just on the fact that they got the DFH or DFS first among us. We all stopped, and didn't continue using the "glitch" as it eventually became more known to be. The people that continued are the abusers. But the way Andrew worded his post, it sounds like we are all screwed. The angry mobs with pitchforks calling for bans don't really help. If I got on easter morning I would never have done it, as by then it was obviously an abuse of PvP. At midnight Saturday, it wasn't so obvious, and I tried it. So in short, me and many of my friends tried it because we barely even knew if it was working, how potent it actually was, or anything of that nature. We all stopped, and I felt pretty confident we didn't do anything wrong. The people who KEPT ON and made 50-100m+ were obviously abusing, but I would guess less than 200-500 people actually did this. Where as I'm thinking 5,000-7,500 tried the glitch, making anywhere from nothing, to 10m.

Though, since there have been no apparent bans, chances are she is right. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science
April 20, 200917 yr Author Hehe yeah, not so much accurate Jmod. Several bans have been handed out already, including to clan officials and leaders - no names mentioned. Skilling clans not excluded by the way, to those who complained about Jagex being biased and just going for warring clans... Also, they have said more are on the way. You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

As far as I know a few people have been banned, but nothing major. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

April 22, 200917 yr I don't know what's worse, being banned or playing everyday without knowing whether it's your last day before being banned
April 23, 200917 yr Mod steven said that nobody who hasn't already been banned will be. So it's over, and nobody I've heard of got banned lol. Proud Leader of the Corruption Clan. PM me to set up a fight or for any queries relating to my clan.
