I'm doing the fast points method so I get quite a few pyrefiend tasks from Mazchna. Would it be a good idea to slay them in Soul Wars and gain some zeal while I'm at it or would full on slaying be the better choice since I wouldn't be attacked?

No that's not helpful. This is a game of raising your skills. Slayer raises that skill, the combat skill you're using, and you collect charms for Summoning at the same time.

yes statisticly slayer isn't the best way to train, but this game isn't about doing the most effiecient things to level up, it's about doing what you enjoy.

Well seeing as slaying is the only way to gain slayer exp and raise your slayer level, I say its bad to just skip the tasks and waste points on them. Better to kill what you get assigned. Now if you were to just train attack/strength/defense then there are better ways to do that.

Slayer is probably one of the best skills. It keeps training interesting and the only way to train it is by fighting so you might as well not skip on the tasks.

 

 

 

Btw: If you get jellies or pyrefiend tasks, go into sw as you get free sw pts towards rewards while you slay. :thumbsup:

So far, castlewars3 has come to closest to actually addressing my question. I appreciate everyone's replies, but really I think the main idea of my post has been missed.

 

 

 

I asked whether or not I should be slaying in SW on pyrefiend/jelly tasks so I could gain xp and zeal at the same time. The problem I saw with it was the potential to be killed during the game, affecting possible rates of xp. So far CW3 is the only one to suggest that I should go ahead and do so.

 

 

 

And purewcnub as most have said, you telling me that I shouldn't train slayer doesn't help with my question at all. Yes, I have read compfreak's rant and in much detail, but I slay to:

 

 

 

1. Get better equipment. Super cheap and powerful broad bolts, accurate and cost efficient slayer dart, and the LBS as a cheap stabbing weapon. Many would say these are very good weapons additions to anyone's arsenal.

 

 

 

2. For diaries and quests and such. The Falador 3 shield is one of my long standing goals as it looks so awesome and has equally awesome benefits. It requires 72 slay.

 

 

 

3. Variety is the spice of life.

in tie worlds ppl dont usualy attack ppl at jellies or fiends and ther is less ppl

6 zeal an hour is much more then 10k unless u are [developmentally delayed]ed or are training low skills

I don't sw much, but if I recall i get 2k slayer xp per zeal at lvl 82 slayer.

you should definetly regular slay them, not soul wars. sw doesnt really give very good xp, as others have already brought up. however, what no one has mentioned yet is the wait time to join in a sw wars game, especially on the crowded worlds. all the time wasted waiting is time that could be spent killing creatures through regular slayer tasks.

not sure about normal worlds but if the is already a wait world u dont actualy wait long and sw is only bad slayer exp
