Do you ever get that falling feeling?

As the dream went, I was walking down a main road with a teacher I had a couple years back in grade school, we were going to stop at someplace, but a truck pulled out infront of us, my teacher had climbed over the truck, and jumped off the other side. She beckoned for me to do the same, but as I did, the truck grew twice its size, and I had to roll off the side, but I did not get a good start, and I was falling off the other side of the truck, but my whole body froze in mid air, and my view switched to third person, I got the most amazing feeling shooting through my whole body, then I woke up. Wide awake at 3:00AM.

Now that I look back on all the dreams I have, (not many anymore,) I realize that I had that "falling" experience many times, but I never hit the ground. And I was so curious about it, if anybody could give me links to articles about it online or something, or tell me your experiences. :)

Goodnight.

isnt this area for runescape related topics?

I figured they meant ALL questions when they put it in bold. If somebody wants to move it, go ahead.

EDIT: I know why I quit RuneScape, and I don't know why I bothered to reply to you, honestly.. Your two and a half 99s are the most mindless skills in the game.

harsh i just pointed out that it was runescape related questions inferring that you may recieve more answers in other topics for example the off topic discussion thread. bringing my stats into it was unneeded. and it shows that the runescape community is better of without you if you take that approach to everyone that points out to corrections to you. =D> welldone.

ps i have 3 99s =D> welldone yet again

pps your stats are hardly godlike :wall: need i say more

You are truelly pathetic. Bot of you actually. Trolling and whining like 2 little girls. Anyway, you're dreams are stress induced. Falling in a dream means the unconcious fear of something. You might not know what but you will soon enough.

Wow, so much drama on a thread that's like 5 posts long.

Anyways, on topic, I sometimes get that feeling right before I doze off to sleep and it wakes me up. Once I even visualized a ball flying around a town and it eventually reached me and startled me so bad that I jumped.

When I was younger... it happened less and less and now it's been years. It also used to feel like my bed was spinning.

Same as you.

I want a scientific explanation as to why it happens though.

Yes, I've felt it, it's a normal thing called hypnic jerk.

Something. more or less, about your equilibrium in, near, or around your ears. :P

Had it quite a lot, quite like it. I'm sure I've hit the ground once, but they say that if you hit the ground you die..

Also, anybody had the thing in which you wake up but are unable to move for a few seconds? Now that's scary.

Yeah, it's called sleep paralysis and it feels like an otherworldly experience. I woke up with that one night and thought I was dead and become a ghost.

Not often at all, but it's really cool when I do. Makes me want to BASE jump or something.

Thats what an Out-of-body thing is? I thought they were rare, but I get them at least once a month...

It happens when I'm dreaming, then I'll die in my dream, and when I wake yp it feels like I just fell and am kind of winded ad can't move.

Sweet \'

I've never had a falling dream or sleep paralysis :( Most of my dreams include me walking into a candy store, asking why there's no circus around, then taking a step and finding myself made of fire.

Have you heard of lucid dreams? Well, wikiepdia it. If you can force yourself to have them, you can make yourself have that feeling.

No, but I do enjoy the feeling when you think that there is another step (on a fleet of stairs), you take a step, but there is no step (on the fleet of stairs). I'm unsure if that relates at all to what you're describing.
