What are your views upon growing merching clans?

 

 

 

I feel they are a good way of making money, but you have to watch yourself with them.

I find them annoying when I can't buy something from the GE because one of them is merching an item.

 

 

 

I wish everyone would just solo merch, then it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

I feel no effects of merching clans, since i tend to use my gathering skills.

 

IMO merching clans are equivalent to pyramid schemes, illegal in some countries.

I don't see why they are getting enough respect to be called mercing clans. Merchanters (real ones) 'ride' the natural fluctuations in the market. Price Manipulators/Manipulation clans buy out any item (that has demand) and cause unnatural rises and decreases.

I think they're annoying because people are ALWAYS making threads about them! I swear there's a new 'what do you think of merchers' every week.

 

 

 

Other than that they suck because they're manipulative [wagon].

Eventually they will saturate the user base with bitter people who thought they could get rich quick, only to learn the only people who are in charge and have the ability to buy first and then dump onto their "clan".

Yeah, I went to World 1 on an f2p account to sell some stuff and there were at least a dozen macroers advertiseing manipulating clans. -.-

Imo it's as follows:

 

Merchanting is when someone goes and buys some items and looking to make a profit in a day or so e.g someone buying strength potions because they know the wildy was coming back and then hoping to make some money

 

Manipulating is when a group of people goes and buys some items to make the price of an item/s raise for there own gain e.g A clan buying out all hammers to make the price of them raise then dump them on the G.E.

This is like the 4th merchanthing discussion in 3 weeks ?
