May 12, 200917 yr As i was going for my fletching cape, some time ago - w132 Yanille bank aka. fletching guild - was my favorite place to hang out. Due to the many fellow fletchers, as well as other skillers like magers alchin. It used to be a commonly crowded place .. Today i went there to do a little fletching - but it was like almost empty. Talked to a dude there who though it could have something to do with the alcher's buying their bows from the G.E now .. Why do you think the guild kinda died - or did it just change place?
May 12, 200917 yr Many places lose their attractiveness due to new updates and features. For example, I'm training at lesser demons at karamja which used to be crowded. Now I'm lucky if i get to see someone.
May 12, 200917 yr Author yea i guess updates an so on could be the answer .. but updates doesn't keep ppl from fletching and alchin - why not do that at fletch guild? #-o
May 12, 200917 yr yea i guess updates an so on could be the answer .. but updates doesn't keep ppl from fletching and alchin - why not do that at fletch guild? #-o Perhaps the same reason people don't powerlevel at the cooks guild. Its not practical? I'm not sure though.
May 12, 200917 yr The whole point of the fletching guild was to provide a place where you could buy supples, sell your longbows, and buy your longbows, all in the same area. Think about it. People used to sell bowstrings, sell yew logs, sell yew longs (u), sell yew longs, and also buy all those. You could literally walk in with 10k, never even leave the bank area, and walk about with a few mil profit and 99 fletching. Now though, since you can just buy everything you need easily at the GE, the fletching guild is obsolete. ~It's Super Effective! May 12, 200917 yr I think alot of people, at least when I used to train fletching, have already gotten their 99 and moved on. As you said someone pointed out. The fletching guild was not just a social gathering, but a place to attract high alchers wishing to buy bows or trade for supplies. No need for it now.
May 12, 200917 yr I fletched there before the 'fletch all' option we have now. I remember going to parties and getting a few mill in loot. I wish it were still there. [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]

May 12, 200917 yr Aww that's not fun. I hung out there when I got 99 fletching march of last year :( I'll check to see if I've still got some pics! EDIT: Yup! But I decided to post them in the sticky instead :P
May 12, 200917 yr Yup due to ge all constan banking things such as fletching are general done at tht ge or a 1 click bank such as the rfd chest, cwars chest, shantay chest etc Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
May 12, 200917 yr i never would train there ( i always trained at bank chests) but i sold my last +/- 45,000 bows there- it seemed that by the end of last may/june there was too great a demand for bows from the alchers. I'm guessing the guild soon collapsed. May 12, 200917 yr Thanks to the ge my homeworld kind of lost its sort of "Nice hanging out spot" sort of area. Similiar to the fletching guild. I dont know why but before the ge, people were more talkative. Remember fishing in catherby and just, you know..talking to people? Now everyone afk trains it. Donnu what happened really.
May 12, 200917 yr RIP to the place years ago I merched nats and made half a billion. You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.
May 12, 200917 yr I was there a month ago, it was full. Sometimes it gets empty though. Its still around though. Tip.It's Official Undercover Agent
May 12, 200917 yr Thanks to the ge my homeworld kind of lost its sort of "Nice hanging out spot" sort of area. Similiar to the fletching guild. Yep, things die. If anyone remembers back around 2006, World 99 Edgville used to be filled with people from Tip.it, look at it now.
May 12, 200917 yr I didn't understand the general purpose of this so called "Fletching Guild" in the first place. I mean, wouldn't it be faster and more trouble-free to fletch in an empty bank rather than a fully packed one, where you're more than likely to lose your focus. Not that fletching really needs focus, but heh, it sure did when I perceived 99 fletching for a goal (there was no string-x back then). I won't miss this unofficial guild, even if it did suddenly disappeared. I might've used it a couple of times in the past to trade yew longs for logs n strings but never stayed long enough to find out what it was like. And there are still many tipiters in W99 edgy, but I agree it isn't quite the same anymore. People now go there to escape from being "sniped". :D
May 12, 200917 yr Maybe you went at a bad time? I got 99 fletching there in October '06 and there would be times at which it was fairly busy and others when it would just be a few other fletchers and myself. Quite possibly lost popularity due to reasons others have mentioned.

May 13, 200917 yr Not really, as he said, it's just a place where alot of people who are fletching or selling fletching material is hanging.
May 13, 200917 yr We have a fletching guild? Read the entire post first  It was the Yanille bank in W132. 99 Magic; achieved on 4-4-2009.85 Slayer; achieved on 6-8-2009.99 Defence; achieved on 14-8-2009.99 Constitution; achieved on 12-3-2013.99 Attack; achieved on 12-5-2013.99 Slayer; achieved on 21-6-2013. I came, I saw, I ran away.
May 13, 200917 yr We have a fletching guild? My thoughts exactly. Haha, I just use fletching to make junk etc. I never knew that w132 yanille was "the fletching guild" Seems a tad unpractical now, because of the GE etc. Luck be a Lady
May 13, 200917 yr I remember that place, I used to swap my bows for supplies there and it's always crowded (until the GE came). [brought to you by the Cult of the Sacred Crate]17th to 99 Smithing OSRS
May 16, 200917 yr There is no fletching level requirement at the Yanille bank, so you can't call it a guild. I got my 99 fletching at the left click bank chest in the Lumbridge castle basement.
