Train on eucaliptus trees, they are the monkfish of woodcutting.

Fools_Taco.png

You might want to put that stat sig in your sig :P

If you're good at dropping (mouse keys or just with mouse) drop the teaks, otherwise parcel. Lumberjack takes more time to get than it's worth, unless you're going for xp past 99. :P

Use this guide for getting your adze.

The fastest way to get lumberjack is to take the easy route and skip all combat events, and to bring a slayer ring to teleport away from the bog that you have to cross by trial and error. (Use sacks of vegetables or baskets of strawberries to feed the starving travellers; make sure you carry a full druid pouch so the ghasts don't rot the food.)

However, it's advisable not to skip all combat events--you should fight the snakes and nail beasts, because you get crazy amazing profit for killing 'em. Remember a knife to skin the snakes.

Oh, and take the hardest follower. It doesn't matter how weak they are, because they never get attacked when you skip all combat events. Might as well get better reward tokens, right?

Lumberjack is reasonably fast to get if you do it this way, fast enough to be worth getting unless you have a long streak of bad luck. In any case, at least it's much more profitable than any tree you could be chopping for that 300k experience.

With all fired up minigame and getting an adze you can tend to the becons with logs and do the thing with the keepers/fix the becons before you have to light them correct? And do you really need 70 smithing?

What is the best way to get an adze?

Finishing All Fired Up :) Haha.. I think if you got the extra logs and the higher up ones so the dudes near the lights can keep them lit it smart. A lot of Energy Pots, Good Beast of Burden summoning Monster ought to do the trick.

Is it worth parceling(sp?) or should i just drop?

I think you may get a profit from Parcelling but to Parcel and get into the Bay where the trees are you need to have finished Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup. I dropped my logs (Teaks) from 85-99 and still made a profit from the seeds you recieve. Either way you should make a profit, whether it is 20,000 or 20,000,000 coins.. That i cannot fortell. :|

Is lumberjack worth getting and if so how do i get it?

From what i have heard in the time it takes to get it; that it is not really worth the effort. If you feel like a break from non-stop Woodcutting (which i did) then it is good idea, as kind of a release. Also you look like a true Woodsman :) But as for the xp not much.. I have a guide on Woodcutting. In the guide in an Equipment section which explains the bonuses. Ill Copy, Paste and Hide it so you can see. Just explains the experience bonuses per log with Full Lumberjack.

[hide=EQUIPMENT THAT AIDS WOODCUTTING]Taken from http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=794037 ~~ Anthony L 99's Woodcutting Guide

7. EQUIPMENT

There is not many peices of equipment that one can use to aid themselves in Woodcutting. Currently the best known is Lumberjack. Which can be obtained through the Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble MiniGame/Mini Quest in which you must kill the Lumberjacks toget their clothing.

Undead Lumberjacks can reach up to level 70 combat. They look like this:

undeadlumberjack9.gif

NOTE:The player can receive only ONE piece of clothing per event; repeatedly killing the lumberjacks after the player receives a piece of clothing in the same event is pointless.

I have personally not got them because it is boring and i have heard the significance in the experience you can get is to insignificant for the time it takes to get the clothing. But it doesn't look half bad. So i may end up with this soon.

The MiniGame instructions can be found here:http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=temple_trekking.htm. This MiniGame can be started after you have met the requirement for the following quests.

KEEP IN MIND YOU NEED 44 WOODCUTTING TO WEAR THIS CLOTHING.

* Priest In Peril: Must have Completed Quest.

* Nature Spirit: Must have at least Started Quest.

* In Search of the Myreque: Must have Completed Quest.

* In Aid of the Myreque: Must have Completed Quest.

The equipment looks like this:

lumberjackhat.gif Lumberjack Hat which solely grants a x0.4 xp %age. Depending on log.

lumberjacktop.gif Lumberjack Body which solely grants a x0.8 xp %age. Depending on log.

lumberjacklegs.gif Lumberjack Legs which solely grants a x0.6 xp %age. Depending on log.

lumberjackboots.gif Lumberjack Boots which solely grants a x0.2 xp %age. Depending on log.

Although the total Percentage of this armour only equals up to 2% the equipment when a whole grants a bonus of 2.5% per log. If you are confused about the Experience rates please look below.

[hide=MMain logs and xp bonuses.]All these below show what TOTAL EXPERIENCE YOU WILL RECIEVE IF YOU HAVE FULL LUMBERJACK ON!!!!

Basically if i screw something up and you can't understand what i have done just read the RED below.

The bonus works on how much xp 2.5% is of the log you are cutting. So the forumula is

Normal Log XP(x) + 2.5% of x = TOTAL EXPERIENCE GIVEN (y)

In numbers:

25(x) + 2.5% of 25 (which equals 0.625) = 25+0.625

OR

25 + 0.625 = 25.625

What do you guys mean my parceling? I have never heard of that before. Is it a new thing? Do you mean trading your inventory to a runner so that you don't have to drop?

People who ask our advice almost never take it. Yet we should never refuse to give it, upon request, for it often helps us to see our own way more clearly.

Rionasta runs a parcel service in Tai Bwo Wannai that can send items to the bank at the cost of 10 trading sticks apiece. You can use the parcel service to bank teaks if you bring a large stack of trading sticks, and you'll earn good experience while making a profit.

TaiBwoWannai.png

On this map, Rionasta's location is marked in yellow. Does that answer your question?

I use the parcel method. I don't like dropping. Even with mousekeys. It's annoying. I'd rather run up to the parcel guy and bank my stuff (for a small profit aswell). But admittingly, I bank two loads at a time with my pack yak.
