I was wondering as well why Egyptologists and Archaeologists have scoured Egypt for different technologies and proof that aliens helped build the pyramids, but why the hell didn't they look at the tip of the pyramids at Giza? Also, that temple in the cliff, why was it so well preserved if nobody ever found it. It didn't seem too decayed or anything, it looked rather nice. And who didn't think "The machine is behind that painting!".

Jesus Ratchet, with people like you around, people can't make films unless they are 100% accurate...

The film is pure entertainment, it doesen't try to be accurate, it doesen't try to be smart, it just tries to be entertaining by throwing as much explosions, slow motion, fights, comedy, women etc at you as possible in the timeframe. If you go into the film wanting something classy with oscar winning acting, go see a boring film, if you want 100% accuracy, go see a boring film, because that's exactly what the majority of films with those things are to the majority of people it seems.

Exactly. I'm thinking of seeing it a third time (I have a coupon for a free movie ticket). There's this girl I know who hasn't seen it yet.

I know a lot of people went to go see the movie for the robot battles and special effects to be entertained and have fun; they weren't expecting anything deep or witty. There's not too much of a problem with that, everyone has different tastes in movies. People watch movies to be entertained, but is over-the-top action and special effects the only way to be entertained? My fear is that if people keep going to movies for just entertainment in effects and action scenes, does this give the people who make movies any incentive to make "good" movies?

Also, I don't think all movies that are "classy" or have "oscar winning acting" are boring; and not all movies need to be like that to be "good."

For me, I only go to movies like Transformers for those reasons, but I expect other movies to have more substance.

Also, I don't think all movies that are "classy" or have "oscar winning acting" are boring; and not all movies need to be like that to be "good."

I agree on that. There are plenty of good movies made that are classy or have excellent acting, and plenty of good ones lacking both.

Krimi, I think Danq only brought that up because of how Ratchet is acting.

Really, you go to see Transformers, and what do you expect? A deep storyline and witty humour? No, you go to see CGI robots beating the crap out of each other and explosions.

I think that there are different degrees of good movies however, and a good movie can consist of action scenes and effects, however you also get those with deeper meaning that can be enjoyable.

That being said, if a story was to be 100% accurate, then it would be boring, and would probably not be released into cinemas.

I saw it this morning. It was alright; the CGI and explosions were great, but I'm the kind of guy that pays attention to the story, and I can't really get past plot holes. Which is why the original Star Wars irks me (there was no point in that "should we blast the escape pod?" piece, and they really should have. Death Star plans aren't organic! And the shield generator on Endor...but that's irrelevant), but it was still entertaining because they eventually just said "[bleep] story, AIR STRIKE!". Also, the line "I am directly below the enemy's scrotum" made the whole thing worthwhile. Michael Bay has just teabagged the Army. Ridiculous, but fun.

What I didn't like, though, were those two stupid black stereotype bots. I thought "finally!" when one got eaten. And the comedy failed really, really hard, except for the tazer parts. But the final explosiastic action battle made up for it all. Also, Rainn Wilson was in it. Sort of.

I still felt like Michael Bay was just thrusting his brilliantly CGI'd genitalia at me, though, with all the effects. And the metallic testicles.

Oh, I liked the story line. It wasn't amazing, but it was good.

And man, Lenin, you're strict on comedy aren't you?

Lol, I agree.

And to all the people bashing me, think of it my way...This movie was trying to be serious. You could tell it, and if you couldn't than you need to put your brain back in your head. It tried, but failed. And when a movie tries to be serious and then plays around with all this comedic crap, it fails. Look a Indiana Jones, it doesn't treat itself seriously, it is supposed to be fun and witty. But Transformers, if treated like Indiana Jones as a witty and fun adventure, could have been fine. There are a lot of things wrong with the movie. Long drawn out fight scenes, returning from the robot heaven.

If you are talking about Optimus, then it is a classic Transformers moment. It happened in the old animated one, as well.

No, I'm talking about Sam. He went to robot heaven and then was magically given back life by dead robots. THAT MAKES NO SENSE!

Right, forgot about that. What do you expect, though? Transformers never did make sense. It isn't in any way intended to, as far as I can tell.

I heard it was really good, I had a chance to see it but I chose not to. :| Kinda' regret doing that now...Even if it is bad I wanna see it just because they experience of it... :?

I've got lots of people in my area debating whether its good or not and I really have no part in them kind of conversations. :wall:

Well even if it is a Transformers movie, I do expect a coherent story...

hatsune-miku-wallpaper-49-1.jpg

The story was coherent though.

Really, do you expect a brilliant plot, but little action because of said plot from a Transformers movie?

It's a basic plot, and it works.

I think the word is "farce". Serious-type plot, but they [try to] make it funny. I didn't find it all that funny, but you could tell the movie didn't actually take itself too seriously. And drawn out fight scenes? Are you serious? More than anything else, that was the point of the movie. Michael Bay's CGI wang flapping majestically in the breeze like a giant pair of metallic genitals. And the plot did make sense, in the sense that I knew what was going on, but it was full of holes that made you say "why would that happen?". Like, yes, robot heaven. But they could say "Oh, it was a hallucination". Those thngs happen with near-death experiences.

All-in-all, you need to get your head out of your [wagon] and just accept that people like it. Maybe the story wasn't the best, and the funnies failed, but really the point was to go see [cabbage] blow up and CGI robots tearing up Earth.

It blows my mind people are so focused on realism when they have seemingly no clue on what the original characters are based upon.

The movie was entertaining. It was fun to watch. I never looked at my watch during it, but the G1 Cartoon at least had a more elaborate plot in MANY episodes. The plot was rather cookie cutter, and the ending was predictable beyond belief.

I have issues with the stuff that few do, like why couldn't they correctly call megatron - galvatron.

Jetfires death was needless, he's a big name robot cartoon wise

Devastator was underwhelming, he coulda carried the movie himself villain wise.

The fallen should of been a major threat, he seemed more like a megatron crony.

Characters like acree and sideswipe needed more screen (Speaking) time.

Soundwave should of done all of megatrons lines.

"Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."

Abraham Lincoln

I watched it two days ago.

Wasn't too bad, I mean mindless action isn't too bad -- devoid of any elements of plot or concurrency.

Still, it got interesting at the end with all the jiggling and slowmotion and whatnot.

That was my least favourite part of the movie. It was just dragged out way too long, in my opinion.

Someone was too busy watching explosions and robots to listen to the story...

That sums up the movie pretty well.

hatsune-miku-wallpaper-49-1.jpg

Obviously the first Transformers was a better story, and had good action, but with this one it had GREAT action, and a lacking story plot. Yes their were holes in the story, but you can't say when you came out of the movie theater you were like "wow that was a kick [wagon] movie!"

There are two main reasons people go and see this movie.

1.)Megan Fox....

2.)Robots kicking other robot butt.

This movie wasn't made for a good story plot, it was made purely for entertainment, and it sure as hell entertained me.

Good Job Mr. Bay
