Best Plate mail body

Featured Replies

I was wondering what plate mail body was the best in the game?

Also, I want to know what plate mail I should get for around 1 mill.I do not want to use rune plate body it looks newb. Also, whats the benefit of neitz helm over dragon med?

On a completely unrelated question how can i make the most money possible quickly using combat?

Thanks

Best "platebody" is Statius's but the ones that are reasonable are Guthan's, Dharok's and Torag's.

Neit has str and d med is nooby.

nezzy helm has both str bonus and prayer bonus.

i would say for 1m best body u can get is torags/dharoks/guthans because they have way way way more def than rune/dragon by a extremely long shot.

For that kind of money for only "platebody"

you're looking at Guthans, Dharoks or Torags.

As the pk ones decay.

However you should note platebody rules out veracs Brassard and Bandos chestplate whihc r both very good

A fighter torso from the minigame "Barbarian Assault" is also pretty nice. It has about the same defence as a rune platebody, with a strength bonus.

Nezzy helm has a strength bonus and looks better than a dragon med :).

No, no, no.

Let me compare those for you.

Rune Platebody is significantly superior in all defence but Slash (and even then, it's only +5 greater on Torso).

I've seen the numbers posted by other users, and assuming 6 hours to get the Torso, you need over 1000 hours worth of training for the tiny strength bonus to be better.

That and I myself (when I was 89 Defence) found I was using too much food, even with a Bunyip with a Fighter Torso and Dragon Legs combo.

So either use a Barrows (Dharok/Guthan/Torag) Platebody, Verac's Brassard, or stick with the cheap and functional Rune Platebody.

Neitiznot against D Med

D Med wins slightly in 4 out of 6 Defensive Bonuses, however the +3 Strength and Prayer Bonus of the Neitiznot Helm means it is superior.

I didn't say it was the best, I said it was "pretty nice." Just an option :).

Fighter torso works fine for me, not for everyone though.

Great post though :P.

Yeah, i normally wouldn't bother getting a fighters torso but barbarians assault is so addicting@@

This jsut made me lol epically.

OP said (paraphrasing)

"Fighter Torso is about the same as Rune Platebody in defence stats"

Sword clearly showed fighter torso is significantly worse than rune platebody in defence stats

OPs responce

"I didn't say it was the best"

How is that even related???

You said they were equally, he proved they were not equal.

If you have Ripper defence (like high 80's to 90's) and not so much Strength (like low 80) then Fighter Torso for that little added strength bonus..

I find that i do just as good with a Fighter Torso, Torag legs, Fury, Skill cape, Dragon boots and barrow gloves as full rune defence would anyway. But thats a little for than 1M

Stick to full rune for now until you get better cash flow.

Don't forget how awesome the fighter torso looks. That's why it's worth it.

With 1m you can get a decent Top (Torags/Dharoks) and Legs (Torags/Dharoks/Veracs), just make sure to make more cash so you can repair them.

i agree with everyone above about the torso sucking...its just for looks dont bother getting it i found myself using double and sometimes even triple the food with the torso than i do with my barrows.

Here are your options:

Statius= Best. But so expensive and the fact that it goes away after a few hours makes this useless.

Vesta= Read Statius

Guthan/Torag/Dharok= They are all the same. Choose one that fits your flavor. Mind you that I'm only comparing body pieces.

Dragon plate= Expensive. It's more of a status symbol.

Dragon chain= Useless relic

Granite Plate= If you plan on using D chains, this is the better option. However, it has a bad reputation as being "nooby armor" but who cares about what people think.

Sacred Clay= Same as rune but MUCH lighter to wear. Has a somewhat bad reputation too because of it's ease to get.

Bando Chest= If you are going to dish out money for Dragon plate, buy this instead. It's just better.

Verac's Brassard= A little better than rune but has a great pray bonus with it.

Anything I have not mentioned is because they are needed in a set or it just outright sucks. There's also a possibility I forgot some things. (No I don't like Fighter Torsos. I'm not a str pure.)

Its about half the price of a dragon plate but not much worse.

dragon plate gives 413, def points dragon chain gives 351 def points ... thats only 62 points diffrence for 4mil+ less, its a cheap alternative.

D Med Helm is crap, never buy it. Neitzi Helm is far better.

A Barrows Plate is good, and if your williing to save alot more, a Bandos Chestplate.

Good luck with your choice ::'
