God Birds are protection in GWD? Like I can go to ZGWD without a zammy item, but if I have my Zamorak bird out, I'll be safe?

Yes you can. And i was planning on doing that until i thought about it. To get into the zammy area you need to cross the water. To cross that you can't have any familiars out, means no bird. So that once you get across you don't have a zammy item and will get attacked as soon as you cross. So its up to you, think you can survive long enough to get the bird back out, or rather just wear an item?

You have to remember that not only are you sacrificing a familiar, but there are better options for god protection that don't penalize you so much.

Nope you can't. I just went and tried and it gave the "Are you trying to drown your follower? You should be reported for being cruel" Message. So apparently you can't.

So u'd take a fair bit of damage trying to summon it after u cross.

Remember it has to be the fully grown version ie Zamorak Hawk, Sara Owl.

If Your camping in the center rooms, for sara/zammy Mages It would work great But the center room is iffy

 

all around Jagex had a good plan for it it just didnt work out to well

 

 

 

And another question is : You know how if you run to far ahead it will teleport to you to catch up meanwhile that time are you unprotected? can monsters attack u :wall:

Pray (whatever), cross, sommon the bird, turn off pray?

 

 

 

EDIT: im sure if your quick enough you would only lose a point or 2, not a big deal. Could try it with nothing except a pouch, if you die you havn't lost anything.

Prayer wuldnt work as there are mages rangers and meleers down there.

 

 

 

And no once they r attacking u they wont stop even if u get the item out. Otherwise u culd jsut wear an armadyl item then camp at aviansies and theyd nvr fight bk

If you also didn't want to risk a full grown bird you could bring a zamatrice pouch, god eggs aren't too rare if you to maples in MTK. Though that familiar doesn't last too long, so you'd have to brind multiple pouches, nulifying its usefulness. Did I just negate the purpose of my own post? :cry:

TL;DR god birds are useless especially because by the time you have 70 summoning there are always better choices, even BoB's.

Lol, of course it's useless, it's a pet that is really only there to look good :P . Like he said though, while it could replace a zammy item it's usefulness is negated because you will be missing out on some other ability.

You can't take a fam with you across the water, so bringing a fam with you would be pointless as you would then have to dismiss it. One of the reasons people don't really do zammy as you can't bring extra food in a BoB. And killing the warriors/mages in there are the best place to do task and since the mages are so weak a familiar isnt very useful. But for warriors they are great.

Yes you can. You dismiss it, go to the other side, drop x amount of items, go back and pick the items that your BoB dropped, cross the water, summon a BoB and pick up the items you dropped. As for the non-BoB familiars, you can summon them after you cross.
