Is it possible to kill Barrelchest from a distance? He is rather large, so is it possible to safespot him? I can't kill him with melee so just wondering..

I dunno if this is still possible, but when I did the quest I ranged him from behind the pews.

You can n-step him i believe but the graphic update might change the layout

There used to be safespots for the fight, but I believe these have been removed.

You could just bind him and try to range/mage him asap.

 

 

 

Get 60 attack for a dds and then just spec him and run around hoping the poison will get him.

When I did it... I can't remember my stats but this is what I did:

 

Entered church - DID NOT move forward and he didn't attack me.. He just stood there looking stupid. (this is since the graphical update, think it's also since the safe spot that some1 mentioned before has been removed :) )

 

 

 

I used the low level ice spell from ancients but I was in melée armour so they splashed -.-

 

 

 

I used super str, defence and attack potions before entering and then just used all 4 Dragon mace specials - these ripped him apart... 30+ damage on each spec at about 70 strength normally lol and that was it... He was dead :)

 

 

 

U could try g-maul at your stats... He is weak to CRUSH attacks (very weak) and he attacks also with crush..

 

I don't know how much money u have but an obby maul and berserker necklace cost 500k total and do awesome crush damage..

 

 

 

^^^ a good plan of attack mayb to super pot up and hit him with an obby maul.. When u hit harder quickly put a granite maul on and spec him then back to obby maul...^^^ (don't wear anything else you don't want to loose - these 3 items cost ~150k (granite maul) ~200k obby maul and ~300k berserker necklace so you will loose a lot if you wear armour that's more expensive than these.. Take sharks and a super set !!!!

Hmm. Thanks. The fact that he doesn't attack you when you don't move is good. It may possibly make this work.

You wont be able to do it, im sorry, i did it last month, dds/d scim. I was super setted and I had a full set of monks. I was 100cb. I killed him with 15hp left.

That's because you used noncrush weapons. I was nowhere near that level when I beat it. I think I was just a little above the op's stats.

Yea prayer doesn't work against him... If u want to do it at your levels .. I would seriously think about my above method and what ever you do USE CRUSH attacks !!!!! The guy lvl 100 who did with DDs/scim was plain lucky ... LOL crush = total pwnage vs barrelchest lol

I tried a rune warhammer, and ended up teleing away. That darn monster is hard :wall: Maybe I'll mage him... I wonder, do brutal arrows use crush?

No. Just ranged style.

Stats please? I killed this guy with 4 dds specs lol...

:wall: My stats are on the first page, on one of the posts. Maybe I shoudl train my attack to 60 or something.

He is pretty weak to magic attacks. Maybe try maging him while wearing your rune armour - drink a magic potion to help with the negative bonuses. His melee attack is a crush attack so try wearing a chainbody as opposed to a plate.

 

 

 

Good luck with this. I maged him from just inside the door and he couldn't reach me but this was before the safespot was removed, I guess.

I would suggest getting your attack up to 60 so you can use a dragon weapon. That will make things much easier.
