Mobilising Armies Glitch - Exiles story

Featured Replies

People will ALWAYS complain. This is EXACTLY why Runescape gets a bad name. Because people flame over EVERY LITTLE THING. The W looks like a V now, FLAME FLAME RAGE RAGE.

A bug happens, and Jagex sticks to their guns, their rules (which is highly admirable) and people flip out like the world is ending.

Tough [cabbage], get some thicker skin. Quit acting like 5 year olds.

While I find it ludicrous that Mod Matt got blamed for any of this I find everybody over at Jagex to be full of [cabbage]. They obviously have ways to tell when somebody lost money (since he could confirm that exile lost the 350m) so why is it so god dam hard to give it back.

You could say "There will be tons of people wasting their time sending in false claims", I say to that then everybody who sends one in that isn't true gets banned. That is easy and people are thoroughly warned.

Jagex [bleep]ed up again and once again the players payed the price. Good job Jagex. You're going to continue to be a second rate company until you learn to produce updates that don't suck huge [bleep] and consistently have multiple bugs and glitches.

If they give him back 350 million, the forums will immediately be flooded with people begging Jagex to give them free cash, and pretending that they lost cash due to bugs in the game. I think this is what Jagex had in mind when they refused to return the lost 350 million.

Uh... Clearly Jagex can tell exactly who lost money and at what time because they were able to do it on Exile's account.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

It'll still be wasting a lot of Jagex's time.

Why?

They set rules and stuck to them. Plus, we accepted their terms.

Honestly, he lost his money, he agreed to terms, Jagex has their hands tied. Do you know the man hours it would take to investigate EACH account that claims lost money? They don't have a system for checking, the mod SPECIFICALLY checked Exile's account.

It's like you guys are completely ignorant to rules, policy and conditions.

Its hardly a waste.

It would make lots and lots of people happier, and renew peoples faith in jagex.

Can you read?

Checking accounts whether they faked the loss of items or not renews people's faith in Jagex? My foot.

I'll agree with this. You could imagine that the logs for every player that makes a request would be tedious to check (it probably couldn't be automated), and with the amount of bogus requests, it would get frustrating, so in an effort to be fair, they'd just deny everyone that.

If you don't believe that Jagex's logs are huge: Consider that they exist for every single player. Of course they're categorized by the last action we did, but checking that over a period of 2 hours to 3 months would slow a lot of stuff up, anyway.

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

If they give him back 350 million, the forums will immediately be flooded with people begging Jagex to give them free cash, and pretending that they lost cash due to bugs in the game. I think this is what Jagex had in mind when they refused to return the lost 350 million.

I'm thinking there should be a thread asking for returned items from the glitch.

With a few rules:

Only people who lost more than around 1 mill in items.

If you are found to be lieing to get free items, you get an instant ban.

Isnt that simple? Then only people who genuinely lost items (or who want to get banned) would ever post, and the ones that did jagex could go and check the logs on that persons account, and then give the money back.

O.O

Some stupid idiots who did not read that announcement or are just plain stupid might think they could get away with it (and believe me, there are a lot of these kind of people) might still post in that thread, wasting Jagex's time still. Though its minimized, of course.

Why?

Jagex's terms say that they are simply guidelines and at any time they are allowed to not enforce them.

Nothing in these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Headings above are for guidance only and not binding. If we fail to enforce any provision of these terms and conditions, that failure will not preclude us from enforcing either that provision (or any similar provision) on a later occasion.

Whose ignorant to rules, policy, and conditions now smart one.

Jagex as a company should admit their mistake, publicly or privately, and give him back his gold. Nobody is going to blame Jagex in this case for doing the right thing. Do you know the man hours it would take? Of course not. control+f and move on. Furthermore the man hours would be better spent doing something like this than the [cabbage]ty testing they do prior to updates.

And I would celebrate. One less idiot to deal with during my game play.

As I said, there would be countless people wanting free cash by saying that their accounts lost money due to bugs.

I'm sure it would be pretty hard to miss.

POST FAKE CRAP HERE AND YOU WILL GET YOUR [wagon] BANNED.

Or... something like that.

O.O

I highly doubt that would work, first of all, there would be alot of people claiming to have lost items - even if they state a ban for liers, people will either take the risk or just not read it entirely (tell their friends "hey theres a thread where you can get 500m....") and I bet its not just going to take a few seconds to check if they're lying or not.

If money or resources are the issue here, then Jagex can make this avenue available only to members, upon the payment of an $X review deposit. If the person is found to have been lieing, they forfeight that money, which then becomes a Review fee revenue for Jagex, hence covering the cost of the review. If the person is found to be telling the truth, that $X can be credited to their membership days or refunded.

Atleast that avenue would be open. IF people are willing to pay for that security, then why not have it available? Jagex is already thinking along these lines, with that key code key ring thing they are releasing (a waste of money if you ask me).

That floodgates argument which Jagex keeps falling back on just does not satisfy me. There are ways around anything.

It isn't happening. I don't even get why this is a discussion.

I want to know why he decided to go to the tutorial with that amount of cash on him?

Even if he thought you would have to buy things with cash why did he withdraw what must have been all of his cash pile, did he really think jagex would release a game were you need over a mill to play? It just doesn't make sense to me.

What if he just liked looking at 350M?

who gives a [bleep] why he brought it with him, he brought it to a SAFE minigame.

And they didn't say it was 350M cash.

So Jagex messed up. Are you surprised?

At least they had someone apologize.

By the way, if you look at the actual thread, you see a LOT more people just flaming at Mod Mat because he apologized, because he messed up, because he followed the policy of the people who pay him every month....

Not to mention, everyone screws up eventually. Mod Mat did, and he apologized for it. At least he had the guts to do that instead of return-flaming everyone else, or just banning everyone who posted on the thread.

Jagex messed up with the glitch, Mod Mat messed up in calling him a liar. They both apologized in some way or another, but due to policy that the user had agreed to in the first place, they didn't return his items. So if you want to flame at Jagex for following their policy, even after they tried to patch up the circumstance, go ahead. But it's not going to do you, that user, or anyone in this universe any good.
