Hmm, I'll have to figure out a way to explain the Lichten presence in 1900. Maybe they came in a giant spaceship which exploded around 500 BC, prompting some Norse Mythlogy. Most of them died, so the species had to lay low (they lost all their technical knowledge because their parents all died when giving birth). They lived in the sea, independantly developing technology on the ocean bottom, scavenging on food that had dropped down, and occasionally went to the surface to hunt a few fish. Then, in the 1900s, they decided to reemerge. :)

Richard Dean Anderson is replaced by Patrick Steward and MacGyver is replaced by Star Trek....and there was much rejoicing.

Even more when Richard Dean Anderson is recast as Ensign Ricky.

If you're going to do the alternative history thing, just do it with an Earth map. It isn't that difficult.

How bout an Earth-like planet that looks exactly like Earth in a different galaxy with the exact same landforms and many of the same cultures. However, the surronding planets would be different.
