Alright, I've finished the YO15/15R viruses. I might put some effort into them later. Oh, i've unpaused research on the other 2 viruses.

I think we really ought defend the new strange mineral planets. It seems they may want the mineral, perhaps because of the fact it can be made into a bomb.

 

Archi, would my virus work on the urk-orz's planet? Doom and I were discussing it, but we weren't sure. If it will work, I'll find a way to virus bomb them.

New stations now being manufactured at a rate of 2 per turn, giving me an extra 500 PP per turn.

 

Nanohost ships will be finished soon, and will be utility ships with few real weapons of their own, but instead carry all three varieties of nanite. They'll be worth 11,000 points, but carry a modifier which affects the entire fleet. They'll also cost me 2000 PP.

 

All new ships and structures will be built using strange Tantalum.

 

The project at Eos is no longer on hold, and will continue in full swing, with me and Archi working on it, instead of just Archi, as it was for the last few days. The rule still stands that anything entering the system will be blown up without any questions.

 

Cannibalisation of the two tiny planets in Sega-Res will continue as normal.

Fired from a very high powered railgun.

 

Here's the key:

1: Tiny amount of antimatter. Once the front orb of the projectile is broken the antimatter rushes forward into the ship's hull, piercing it. If that fails at piercing it:

2: Focused laser, will melt a tiny hole into the ship's hull.

3: Incendiary darts. These will go through the hole, and ignite the interior of the ship (which is ethanol).

4: A small fusion generator. This will eat through the rest of the projectile,and power the continuous fire of the laser.

Oh, I forgot to ask you. I built a scale model (battleship sized, so not too big) of an alien ship, based on what we know, out of the hardest materials possible. It's also filled with ethanol. Obviously this won't be a perfect replica, since they probably have some unknown technology, but if I test my weapon, how would I determine it's effectiveness?

 

EDIT: What do your caravels use to shoot down projectiles?

The big project or the fusion project(its not in Eos since I am only researching). The big project...hmmm given that all of my resources are going to building stations, not doing the thing we were going to do, I would say still 50 years, but I would also say that since the stations will be useful they can knock 4 years off the final 10 years of the project.

As per request, I'm launching my YO15 virus (NOT YO15R) at retech, at planet erikio. Me and him worked it out, he has sent me 10B, I'm virusing him. I'm sending someone in to collect water sample in 4 years, so I can have a mutated version of the virus.

A recently discovered element (form of iridium) has been discovered in the deep sea crusts of many of the world's planets.

 

This special kind of Iridium atom is an ion. It only occurs in layers + and -, so it is incredibly hard. However, it can be easily mined by hitting layers in the opposite direction of their layers to push positive next to other positive, thus pushing the entire thing apart.

 

The special ions can be used to bond joints together without welding, and can be used in creating the harder part of Iridium shells for battleships.

 

The special ions are also used in constructing various interlocking doors.

Probably 5 or 6 would focus on one. They burn though 2 Inches per firing, so unless you are firing car sized cannonballs(Big and solid) at quite fast speeds...Given that we would engage at say 200 Km?... I am fairly well protected.

I was just thinking of a new design for a ship. Basically, it's a giant rail gun and nothing more, other than reactors and propulsion.
