Being relatively heavy and positively charged, alpha particles tend to have a very short mean free path, and quickly lose kinetic energy within a short distance of their source. This results in several MeV being deposited in a relatively small volume of material. This increases the chance of cellular damage in cases of internal contamination. In general, external alpha radiation is not harmful since alpha particles are effectively shielded by a few centimeters of air, a piece of paper, or the thin layer of dead skin cells. Even touching an alpha source is usually not harmful, though many alpha sources also are accompanied by beta-emitting radio daughters, and alpha emission is also accompanied by gamma photon emission. If substances emitting alpha particles are ingested, inhaled, injected or introduced through the skin, then it could result in a measurable dose.

 

The daughter isotopes will be stopped before completing entry and end their half-life inside the already toxic ozone layer.

Since internals are easy to hide, I'm not providing anything as to what they may be carrying.

Also, construction begins on TFS Heimdall which when done will take the position of Alpha Fleet's flagship, and Ragnarok will be retired to Beta fleet's flagship.

The BSAF launched an "invasion" of a vastly empty area on our desert world in Kajea. Props (moving targets and such) were set up. Tanks and retired Lancelots were in the area and were used for target practise. This war game simulated a battle field scenario. Drop ships sent soldiers to the surface (who had various exosuit models, based on their branch and subgroups. An orbital blockade was simulated as well.

 

Naval scenarios were played out on the open oceans of Kajea.

 

Arctic warfare was simulated on the arctic world in Kajea.

 

The military experimented with well-insulated metamaterial clothing. The metamaterial jacket also contains light-weight armour on the inside that absorbs the impact of bullets. It essentially makes the soldier transparent, but still somewhat visible since it isn't a true cloaking device. Metamaterial is optic camouflage. Also, this clothing was only used on soldiers that didn't use full exosuits. The results indicate that this clothing would be practical for soldiers who aren't in fully-enclosed exosuits during arctic warfare. It's better than nothing.

My population has been stable for at least a decade. Remember that I've been shipping the eggs to that other world? Anyways, the mysterious illness killed 90% of the population...of a day care which takes care of an average of 8 children, with 2 daycare helpers. The only surviving child is now receiving medical attention.

On a side note I have a new type of exo-suit. It is called the Hector class suit and will be replacing the others as my primary infantry weapon. The specs are however rather secret though so.... The more you know!

In the atmosphere the doughter isotopes would come to a halt and then end their half-life quite fast. But if you'd really like I could use a clean nuke instead of a rude bomb.

Think of the Urk-Orz as if they were another player...would another player be seriously ticked off if you blew up their planet with a super bomb....Furthermore won't everyone else be rather annoyed with you for destroying the Duna on Set...

I suspect shenanigans, so I'll be using my Hyplex scanner to perform periodic scans of Sega-Res. The 20 Styx platforms in both Eos and Sega-Res are also at the ready, as well as my main fleet.

The Malaysian Empire due to sudden troop movement is setting all defenses systems on orange alert levels and starting patrols of space in occupied solar systems. Project ARCHIMEDES should be complete by now and the results of which are being employed in the Kajean, Sinabo and the final one that I control aside from eresu. Finally I continuing with Tachyon research as it is not damaging to the game for me to actually have a faster method of ftl travel and in the other part of the project something that works like an ansible for instant communication.

Well my empire is always ready for a widespread galactic war. We have more guns than the rest of you combined (except for Dusty), though they're mostly small firearms given to civilians. Mass conscription ftw!

My offensive fleet is nothing compared to the defensive placements I have.

 

You guys may have better numbers, but I have a computer which I can use to calculate epic strategies (Which just gives me a large bonus in combat I guess.) and a 600 million machine army which can move in unison! (Not to mention practically invisible soldiers with monomolecular wire and troops the size of a small building but with the comparatively epic reaction speeds for their size)
