Japan launches some military raids on Papua New Guinea / New Guinea until they submit to our rule once more. This is what we do this year.

Darn those were my next targets  Eh well Malaysia is now trying to convince the Philippines to join our now over trillion dollar gdp league (yes with Indonesia ) this should take roughly 3-4 years depending on how the talks go...

Germania's spaceship has been completed, and colonists shuttled to the ship. It is now underway to the planet that German astronomers discovered a couple years back. They should reach it in around 7 years. The other smaller ship we have been building is almost complete, and should be ready for travel in a few months.

There are no solar systems within that distance that could sustain life, because they are all red dwarfs. The closest system that's not the one my planet is in that could sustain life is 61 Cyg A, around 12 lightyears away, or, reasonably, 15 years away.

The ship will be heading towards a planet around 20 light years away, traveling at near-light speed. It should take around 22 years to reach there, while the colonists spend most of their time in cryogenic sleep. Since the haitability of planets orbiting Alpha Centauri is disputable, we won't be heading there.

Germania would like to start a project on Haven that would have every possible team researching it together (meaning your whole team on Haven would be put towards it). The finished research for this project would only be open to those who put teams towards researching it. We propose a dedicated effort to finding out a way of traveling faster than light. 12 years should probably be a reasonable time. Germania has already put around $1 trillion towards this project.

It's not physically possible. If we want to do something that makes colonizing easier, and still breaks the laws of physics but isn't too unbalancing, try faster than light communication. Because it would be 45 days till you heard that your ship had landed.

Okay okay okay, I'm back for the moment.

Read through the last 6 or so pages too.

All of Somalia's space stations/satellites/ships have been slagged by my ARC cannons, as per Doom's request.

(My citizens were amused by the giant light show)

My Exobreaker A-2 designs are now available on the open market, seeing as my fighting is now done by machines, rather than humans.

Doom, that chart of stars is really confusing, could you possibly spell it out really simply, as my brain isn't working very well today.

Also, I assume we are still working together on those space warships?

Renaming my raptor drones to Icarus drones, as I think somebody already has Raptor jets.

Due to the recall of a lot of my soldiers from their stations to be replaced by Icarus drones, a lot more scientists have been hired, and have started work on drugs to make the circulatory system and respiratory systems more efficient.

It's not possible that we know of. There's nothing to say that our entire understanding of physics is dead wrong.

Could be something like this:

I still don't think discovering something in 12 years that would complete overturn hundreds of proven rules in physics makes any sense. Think of it this way, in the game now, it's 2040. In 12 years it's 2052. I think that having colonies on mars would be incredible for 2050, colonies outside of the system more so, (though that ironically came first). I think we should be happy with what we have for now.

I'll second that, but I don't think we should throw physics breaking discoveries out of the window entirely.

I'm going back into my coma now.

[Quick edit: I'm stupid, and reread the above post. This post doesn't make much sense now #-o ]

@Ross: Can NZ buy some of your exo-suits please?

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Pff I'm never happy.

12 years is more then reasonable, considering it would be a project that would have co-operation by major nations, and a yearly budget 58,000 x what NASA's is.

RIOT!

Riots are breaking out through out Zimbabwe over the recent release of the clones into the public. The Catholics are not happy. The new church of Zimbabwe has been raided and the Catholics seem reckless. The Catholic citizens and progressive scientists have been butting heads for year, but this is the first sign of bloodshed. The Police force has locked down all military buildings in fear that they may be used against the public of it's own country. Some army reserve are pro-science. Others are much too Catholic. Civil War has been threatened more than once during these times of stress. LAARTs have been deployed to major cities to disperse the crowds in the streets. The Pope has turned a blind eye to the subject. Catholics are trying to persuade the atheist scientists to reconstruct their beliefs. It's a true battle of technology and faith. Most of all it's just costing me money :(

Germania, we accept those islands (we get the whole group of the Canaries right?), but we would like cash considerations to pay back our purchase of Tunisia.

Findenland Would like to claim the mars colony to the left of Norway's, it will still be called New Helsinki. We intend to send 10,000 people over the next few years and produce our own ships.

Hehe. Good thing that silly Catholicness doesn't hold much sway in Germania. Thor would never be upset over clones. More blood for the thunder God!

Inner Germania is almost 90% Norse-pagan, Atlantic-Germania is 98%, Outer Germania around 46%, and Africa-Germania is now around 26%. Those numbers are increasing steadily as people grow more and more disillusioned with a pope that is merely a puppet and a failing religious system.

Then why aren't you guys fighting with battleaxes and warhammers?

If I remember right, according to norse myths, those were the true weapons for the brave.

No. They used whatever weapons they wanted. The hammer was Thor's signature weapon, and axes were prevalant in Scandinavia during the viking times because one of the main sources of income for the area was lumber, so most people had axes. Also because most vikings would normally fight enemies with shields (who fought in shield walls) so axes were very useful.

Tell you what, if you can think of a way light speed would actually work, then maybe it will actually happen.

boomerang type maneuver around a sun to gain momentum until extreme speed

Grim, I have better anti-riot technology. ;)

Britannian news:

We are currently building defence shields and various other fortifications over the entirety of Canada. Since the project isn't our main focus at the moment, it would take years to build.
