1 Defense Pure, Worth getting 45?

I'm mainly a ranger, and I was considering getting 45 defense for 3rd Age Ranger armour.

 

 

 

What are your thoughts ? I promised myself when i started the account that i wouldn't get defense, but there's no reason not to now that I really think about it..

Sure, skillers are crippled but they arent crippled in their main used way, like combat. :|

 

45 defence is good. 40 would make a decent F2P tank if you ever pk in F2P.

But why not if he have that money...spend them in chinchompas and prayer pots (tip: dont bother to buy prayer pots now, you can hardly buy them and their price has been bloomed recently).

If you know how to use a high level pure (99str, range + mage with 52pray and 70+ attack), then you will still hold your own against others (pures or mains/tanks) alike. That's because a "high level" for a pure is at 100 combat, while an actual high level with maxed everything is at 120+ and would definately tear apart any pure.

Maxed range/mage tank and "barrows pure" are all 102lv combat, you see them a lot in pvp worlds. They can and will crush any 1lv def easily.

I think before you decide on whether to get your defence up, you should first level up your mage/range to max, or whichever levels your happy with. Test pking on that with 1 def, if you like it keep it, if you don't, don't. Don't make any decisions before you're maxed, because you can get defence anytime, but once you've got it, you can't take it back.

 

 

 

Plus, 45 def gets hit a lot too.

Barrows pure maybe not, but tanks might be trouble. But my point is if he promised himself to stay 1 defence, 70 something range is not the time to go tank.
