August 28, 200916 yr It seems like several different bad-guy leaders in several different shows share a weird similar characteristic: It wouldn't be a far stretch to say that perhaps they are purposefully shaped as such to be similar to the German helmets during WWII. The reason for associating them with 'evil' should be pretty clear. So far the only ones I could think of off of the top of my head were... Old-style (first series) Megatron Old-style (first series) Cobra Commander Darth Vader All of the Zeonic Mobile Suits from Char's Counterattack (Sazabi, Geara Doga, Jagd Doga) [hide=Reference] All shamelessly copied from Google Images. Karil is obviously a Nazi too...[/hide] The trend isn't as apparent from just looking at these images as I'd have hoped, but if you've ever actually watched the source shows themselves you would more easily see it.
August 28, 200916 yr Their helmets are shaped like helmets. you can't be serious  I'm not really sure, but I suppose if you really think, you can see some form of connection.
August 28, 200916 yr Author I'm not really sure, but I suppose if you really think, you can see some form of connection. Like I tried to say, it's clearer in some pictures over others. People who have actually seen these shows will likely have seen these characters a lot and make the connection easier.
August 28, 200916 yr Gratz you've foun one of millions of archetypes in television  Here's another semi-obvios one: All good sitcoms start with a fat dumb husband (or perhaps overly angry as opposed to fat), a smokin' hot wife (or an obnoxiously cheerful one). Kid stereo types usually involve 3 kids, the middle of which being the odd one out. If there are any pets, they either talk or are dogs. In some cases - both. August 28, 200916 yr Gratz you've foun one of millions of archetypes in television  Here's the rest, if you dare :o And as for actual topic value, A group of misfits that have little in common with each other learn to work together for the greater good, followed by a happy ending where they learn the power of friendship and the entire world is better for it. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr

TVTropes is the very first thing I thought of when reading the topic title :) .
August 29, 200916 yr I'm just really not seeing it considering that Cobra Commander had multiple costumes. Children of the 80's growing up watching saturday morning cartoons didn't have an idea who the NAZIS were. Most of the decipticons and autobots had "helmet" heads . "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. You described Family Guy last to the finest detail  (It has everything you listed including the talking dog) But it does parody american sitcoms and their lameness.
August 30, 200916 yr It's a pretty weak argument to be honest.. I just googled some of the villains of Spider Man, Superman and Batman and there's no Nazi symbolism to speak of.

Captain America completely revolves around the fact that he was built as a super soldier in WW2 and then got frozen and came to our times.
