Not sure if I'll even change much of this or use it. Maybe I'll see if anyone wants to buy it for cheap if anything, haha. Was the product of me going into photoshop without any idea of what I wanted to try other than I wanted to do some sort of minimalistic design. I actually kind of like this, it could probably make a pretty neat looking portfolio/blog.

I dont really like the striped background much.

 

But pretty good overall for a simple website.

I couldn't really think of a background to do, and I really dislike gradients -- haha.

White text on light green is hard on the eyes, don't like the stripes either, too much contrast between the 2 shades.

Maybe my monitor is calibrated darker, it's not too hard on the eyes for me. :P

Most people wouldn't calibrate their moniter though. I don't like it. The stripes around the boxes are the off putting thing fopr me, as well as the white on light green.

Doesn't mean you have to something with it, I can imagine that it looks perfectly fine just being gray without those black stripes :thumbup:.

 

 

 

I think you should redo the buttons though (Home,Port... etc.), they don't stand out enough. Other than that I really love your colour and font choice :thumbup:.

I'm not a great fan of it, it doesn't "flow".

Looking at it today now I'll probably end up at least de-saturating the green a bit and everything, and mess with the background some too.

It's an Xtacle from the show Frisky Dingo.

I think the colour scheme is the main problem here, I like green but this isn't a nice kind of green, especially not with the dark grey. Other than that, it's really simple, which is what you were aiming for obviously so that's a good thing. I do quite like the stripes, maybe just adjust the rest of the template to make it work with them instead of removing them and keeping most other things as they are.

Yeah, much better. Now I have something else to complain about though: I think it could use some dark grey implemented somewhere more near the bottom of the design (and not just from the weird avvy thingy :P), just to make it more balanced. And I'm not too sure about the font you used for the quote box, something about it just doesn't seem right. I think it's the spacing.

Well the font is like 24px with only 18px Leading, so that might be it.

 

 

 

I'll mess with it though because something does seem off for me too.

Adding much more spacing would greatly improve the minimalism of the design. At least 10px's between the avatar and the text etc. A larger line-height, and for the large intro message, more spacing from the sides of the box it is in.

I'm not a big fan of the striped background. Everything else works for me but the stripes add to much if your going for minimalism. I'd try a pure white background. Very simple but I think you'd be much happier with it in the end imo.

Probably last update for this design, getting a little bored of it and want to do something else, haha.

 

 

 

Took some of the advice and upped the leading on a lot of text and spread some stuff out. Switched to a darker themed background again because I like that better.
