Don't bother with it, just protect from mage as you run passed them.

I always found the Anti-Dragon shield to be fairly pointless when I did it, using Protect from Mage seemed to be adequate enough. I guess if it's the first few times though, or your particularly worried about hits, taking one's a good idea?

use karls and a crushing weapon like SS or ZS in your inventory bring bunyip pouches and scrolls ( thay drop raw shark and lobs quite often) prayer pots and food pray range remember to get in the ancient cavern you need to do barbarian firemakeing training also remember next to the waterfiends are brutal green dragons

If your worried about the greens simply take a sip of anti d fire potion at the bank.

 

Karils isn't essential as its only slightly better then black dhide.

 

For the crush weapon Z spear or SS is a must (I'm using SGS solely as I cba to borrow/buy a SS or Z Spear and it saves 1 inventory space).

Take 3 super sets as you need all the levels you can get.

Torag Hammers are junk to be honest. If you can't afford an SS or Z Spear I would recommend just borrowing one from a friend.

 

Also it's worth noting that you can do them in the Chaos Tunnels and use a fighting familiar to speed it up slightly, that's what I've been doing and I get upwards of 100 crimsons an hour and can stay considerably long with profit. I've only done them with Fire Titan and above, but I've heard from a friend who did this for 99 Summoning that a Spirit Kyatt with scrolls is a decent fighter.

They are only 1 tick slower. 5 bars vs 6 bars of the spear/sword.

 

They are more accurate than both.

 

Prayer isn't a necessity considering the range attack is also magic based, though trips will be shorter and more food will be used. Only recommended for higher levels however.

Torag's Hammers are okay for using if you absolutely cannot afford a Zamorakian Spear. The Spear is far superior, and is preferable if you have a friend who will loan it to you.

it is, wear high range defence and pray mage, see what happens.. you will lose health faster than mage armour and no prayer, I've tested it myself.

It's true, both attacks are mage based.

Also be sure not to rely too much on the raw food drops, for me at least they have been faaaaar to inconsistant to count on. Just make sure to pray range, have some food with you, and maybe bring an EE if you have it.
