Mucky
I am combat level 127, I have full Bandos, various Barrows armors, GS, DFS.... My questions are, if I get the void melee set do you think I would use it? What might I use it for? Should I just forget the melee and get the ranger set? Is the ranger set better then Karils? I currently have all the armor pieces except the helms, I'm just wondering which helms to get. I would just get them all and test them but I am not a big fan of Pest Control. Thanks in advance. Darkvengence
I have both melee and range and I hardly ever use the melee except when I'm just messing around and having fun. The range on the other hand I use quite often if I'm able to safespot.
brainymidget
Personally, I find the only good set to use is the melee set as if you use the mage or range you lose the bonus that you would normally get from the armor while with melee, there are no such bonuses(except some small strength bonuses from a few things). Mage can be used in a few places but it's not all that useful and ahrims is for the most part better. Range can be helpful I suppose. You lose the bonuses from the ranged armor but you gain accuracy and ranged strength with it so it does work quite nicely although I don't personally use mine all that much.If you were using melee, one very helpful place for it would be waterfiends if you kill those all that often. If you aren't on a slayer task, I find void much more helpful there. There are some other places its useful but I can't think of any right now. Maybe if someone else comes along, they can be of a bit more help than me in this matter.
JoeDaStudd
void range is better then dhide for everything under lvl 200.void melee rocks at gwd [zammy/bandos] (10% accuracy + same max hit as full bandos), AZ's, waterfiends and so on.void mage is best used for maging avis. Mucky
Thanks for the answers guys. Looks like im just gonna have to get all three helms because everyone seems to have a different opinion. I am gonna be stuck at PC for awhile longer. If anyone else has anything to add about the Void armors I will still be checking this post. Thanks guys
Lap
Void armour = good defensive bonuses against magic. Do I reccomend it? Absolutely not for melee. Why? You lose all of your defensive bonuses, and it takes around 5-8 hours to get just one void set. Fact: Full Bandos + DFS will hit the same as void armour. So why use it if you are gaining nothing but some magic defense? Void range is great, nothing bad about it. I only use my armadyl armour against creatures that actually hit me.Void mage is allright, not too bad, not too good. 45,657th to 99 Range 29/09/09 , 41,018th to 99 Mage 13/11/09__________________
Mucky
Another quick question, are the gloves considered part of the set? Or is the set just the top, bottom, and helm?

Mucky
So I got the void range set. I tried it on with my other range gear and I got a range attack bonus of roughly +110. That seemed really low to me, so I put my Karils on and I came up with a range attack bonus of roughly +160. Then I looked at the defence, the Karils magic and range defence is like 30 points better. I guess I'm still just cunfused on what I'm gonna use this set for. Kinda upset I spent so much time at PC getting it.

Hopefully it makes you feel better.

yuyu13
I have each helm, and never use the mage helm, rarely use the melee helm, and occasionally use the range helm, though that is because I don't range very often.

Kinda upset I spent so much time at PC getting it. Defence doesn't matter if you're safespotting, if you're praying, or if your monster is weak. And unless a monster has high defence, Void Range will make you kill it faster. It was a good idea to get it, trust us. When you go feather dragon god, you never go back. gorgoroth
Okay i might say what a few others have said but here are my views. Melee Set: Great for waterfiends and any undead NPC (Use along with a Salve (e) and its the best offensive gear in the game). Also this is great for rushing. Ranged Set: Good for rushing and just about anything you can safeSpot. Mage Set: Only good use i can think of is Aviansies. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
Draconic
Void Mage also looks kinda cool, but it's by a lot the least useful Void set. When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.
J35u5_M4
I find void armor only useful for 4 main things. Barrows/TDs/Fun with friends/Outfit. Unless you're a PKer and you don't mind losing, you should get it for this. The ranger set is epic for Aviansies if you have a good shield and defence level, and just tank them (But I think Armadyl armor overcomes this). You can use the ranger set also for Chinning, so you can get 99 ranged fast. You can use the melee set for Armoured Zombies, which are, as far as I know, one of the main, if not the best, melee trainers in game.
