Guitarted7
Actually... I don't think there should even be a level cap. But there is an xp cap and it should always be there. It's 200m. Meaning the highest achievable level would be 149. Level 150 requires 203m last time I checked. Get to 200m to see that you only need 3m more for level 150, but your xp doesn't go up any higher. "Pmg hax! Why can't I get 150?!!!/?!!!/!?11///!!/??? *breaks the computer*". Oh, and someone posting something about weapons/armour/hides that require 80 stats? Why not 85? Having a 10 gap between each armor set is over rated. Atleast between dragon and rune it's 20. Between Barrows and next up should at least be 15. notice how lvl 149 is EXACTLY 50 levels higher than the max level atm ...It could be a coincidence but Jagex could take this into account as a nice neat number to start off from...HOWEVER...this means that there is NO ABSOLUTE POSSIBLE WAY FOR A MAXED OUT RUNESCAPE ACCOUNT. because maxing out all stat xp to 200 million is absolutely lifeless. Or they would remove the xp cap but that would dissapoint the people who have maxed out the xp in some of their skills. Of course increasing max level would be a massive update that definitely would need prior notification Click here to see my goals and achievements thread

The max level following the 200m xp cap is 126, not 149. 149 is 1.84 bil xp. But you know what, if it was impossible to have a maxed runescape account, would that really be such a bad thing? Yes it would for the people who absolutly have no life, but no problem for people like me that have absolutly no problem with the fact that they don't even have ONE skill at level 99. Mabye that way we'd have a few 'seers' in certain skills, and nobody who is a god at every skill. (at least not for a long long time).

FuBai
I think the cap should be removed on all skills - there is a vast amount of experience that the high level players have over and above the amount of xp they require for level 99 - experience that is wasted on all but your ranking. Moreover, it would give scope for some new updates (we all know that fletching is quite easy to get a 99 in, but magic bows needing such a high requiremnet means that there isnt enough space to fit higher requirement stuff in). It would also differentiate between people like zezima and rs2 products - your combat level would better inidcate the time you have spent on training it. roaming_jim
I don't think the cap should be removed. Isn't it annoying when people ask you to put things in your signature? If you agree with me, put this in your signature.
FrankyBrown
No, because to get above 99 would take ALOT of no lifing rs. Every normal person that likes to play will be constantly beaten in the wilderness by the no lifers  (level 126 is hard to get but it's possible without having to no life but getting all your skills to 149..just no.. NScombat
I like the idea of increasing the lvl cap. Jagex can quickly establish the ramifications by looking at player xp levels. It offers incentive to those that have reached 99 to continue and rewards those who have passed the 99 mark. Jagex just do some homework on damage values etc and wildy implications. As a last thought, instead of increasing damage lvls/protection a special random effect % could be introduced for skills past level 99; attack double hit > you hit hit twice with wielded melee weapon - special splash colour lvl 100 0.025% chance lvl 101 0.0275% chance etc strength crushing blow, +50% additional damage - special coloured splash lvl 100 str 0.025%... etc defence shattering reflexes, stuns opponent for one combat round - dazed effect but I digress lol Always buying;Seaweed @ 400eaGreen DHides @1500eaBlue DHides @ 1800ea
