What are the rates of the slayer tasks that he gives out? I've gotten about 20 tasks for him- 1 spiritual mage task and 0 abbysal demons, tons of waterfiends and aquanites until I blocked them. Am I just unlucky or is this average for him?

 

If it matters at all, I'm level 127 with 86 slayer.

It seems that u are lucky, waterfiends are awsome tasks, if you want abby demons you can always camp there, although u should get them more.

That's crazy. I almost never get waterfiends, and I have aquanites blocked, so I never get those. I notice duradel's favorite tasks are black demons, spirit mages, abby demons, dust devils, aberrant spectres, warped terrorbirds, and bloodveld. Greater demons, scabarites, dark beasts, and waterfiends seem to be slightly less common.

Ya you could possibly be stuck in a small loop of tasks. I was stuck on fire giants, waterfiends, greater demons, abyssal demons, and black demons/dragons for the longest time. I didn't get Spiritual mages until i hit 90 slayer, nor did i get nechs until about 88 slayer.

 

But just keep training slayer. You'll get plenty of task along the way to 99, if you're going for it.

 

Also don't forget to adjust your block list some, or do more quests. These may get you more of some tasks and less of another. OR just try Sumona for a few tasks.

Agreed with this, except I find warped t-birds to be slightly less common (thank god).

I did have a run where every other task was waterfiends and they do get tiresome (nice charms but there a 2 hour task).

What also helps a lot is not to do too many quests. But it is probably already to late for you.

The only one which you really unlock is Warped terrorbirds (the rest are pretty easy without I'm overlooking some).

There not too bad at all if you know what your doing.

Just wear melee gear and the moment one starts ranging you flick on protect from range, then 2 seconds later turn it off. As they will either safespot themselves or come into melee range (I cycle 2 birds using this as it allows me to always have 1 lined up for the next kill).

5 monkfish and a bunyip is more then enough for there melee damage (best to bank twice during a task as they're easy to get to and drop a lot of decent things). I did a task of 130/140 in about 1 hour with my questionable stats and made over 300k from the drops (2 rune shields, 2 rune warhammers and a lot of bolts, runes, feathers, tar and tips).

 

My only issue with them is there lack of charms otherwise they would be one of the better tasks.

 

I'd still take warped terrorbirds over black demons any day.

I have been getting the same slayer tasks over and over again. Is something like Waterfiends, Gargs, Dust Devils, Waterfiends, Gargs, Waterfiends, Dust Devils etc etc. Not that I am complaining much over course. :smile:

I always get waterfiends and aquanites, that's until i blocked aquanites but i keep getting waterfiends, and I hate that since I'm a rather big noob. :D

I found I always got stuck in ruts with little tasks. However over a longe period of time you'll notice a lot more variety. Sure, some tasks are less common than others, but I think this also depends on your luck. I know people blocking steel dragons but I must have only been assigned 5 steel tasks from 83 - 99 slayer.

 

As another post said (I forgot their name, sorry) just keep slaying.

Goraks get unlocked aswell (since I'm pretty sure goraks came about in slayer tasks before GWD, where they added some more Goraks). But since goraks are a great xp/hr (also semi-afkable with a high defence level) task, it doesn't matter. I'm sure I saw a slayer guide that listed a bunch of quests that you should and shouldn't do for the people who are really serious about slayer. With the ability of canceling tasks now, I wouldn't consider it such a big deal anymore if you do unlock warped t-birds (infact, I recommend it. Quests are fun :thumbup: )

I know Axe Man Jack's guide liststhe quests that give new monsters among other quests that should be completed as well. Off the top of my head i know that the Path of Glourphie (sp?) gives the warped terrorbirds (for Duradel) and tortoise (for Sumona), Fairy Tale Part 2 gives goraks (only assigns if you complete it), and Mourning's End Part 2 gives Dark Beasts (only need to start it from what i hear). Also doing Priest in Peril unlocks all the monsters in the Slayer Tower and the Canafis area. If you don't do that quest you can get 99 without ever having to kill a ghoul, or any creature in that area for the matter.

My last 8 tasks from Duradel are daggs, 2 iron drags, greater demons, black drags, mithril drags, and hellhounds

 

Compared to my last 6 sumona tasks which are 3 dust devils, 1 Greater Demons, 1 Spiritual Mages, 1 abby spectre

 

 

Idk, the more I use sumona, the more I think I like her tasks over Duradels
