OwnagePie
Go to the gym, try EVERY machine on low weight, let your tendons get used to them and then decide which machine you'll use in your routine. Always start off with 10-20 minutes of cardio to get your body loose and your heart rate up. Machines suck. Don't use them. Waste of flippin' time. You'll get more out of a push up than any machine out there. Free weights are the best. What's a sig?

If free weights are used PROPERLY they are much better than machines.

I do both because free weights just feel like an everyday slump to me after a while. Machines are affective aswell and certainly NOT a waste of 'flippin' time. Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.
Ouchy
Build muscle - it helps naturally burn fat. Plus the ladies love the buff.Exactly.I drink like.. 6 Pepsi's a day, I eat mickey dees like 3 times a week, but Im in good physical shape and my body is toned. My daily routine consists of a 12-minute jog around a basketball court (2-1/2 laps per minute is the main pace), 20, 45 degree sit ups. 30 alternating situps. 20 standard pushups. and 20 diomand pushups. Then 45 minutes of lifting. 2 sets of 8 reps on every machine I can hit. about an hour and a half of straight working out. Take a shower, and play some xbox. also, theres a good chance lifting weights wont help lose weight. Muscle weighs more than fat.Hope I helped alittle :D EDIT: This is what I got over 6 months of that workout schedule. i counted my pepsis and fast food meals. I drank 140 Pepsis and had 30 McDonalds meals over that time, and this is what my body looks like. You aren't really supposed to post pics like this, the mods get all picky. Just remove it before you get into any trouble. And eating Maccas and pepsi like that is stupid. You go and workout, then eat [cabbage] food? And to the OP. I'd seriously recommend asking a personal trainer or the like for advice. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages. ghost4sale1
My only advice is list your own weight. You'll build cut over bulk. My signature got deleted :( And I lost all the links. Thanks Gandorf61.
Zemus3654
Best to talk to the owner of the gym, he should be able to tell you which machines to use for your particular goals. But basically you'd want some cardio (treadmill, excercise bikes, cross trainers), and some chest/abs excercises. It's best to go for a full-body workout then just focus on one area too. As for supplements, it varies on your goals/current fitness level, but i use musashi WPI. hope that helps 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~

All he has to show for those 6 months is in that picture. Now think what he could have gained if he ate right and had a routine when he went to the gym instead of hitting whatever machine was open Best to talk to the owner of the gym, he should be able to tell you which machines to use for your particular goals. I've found people who work at gyms to be unhelpful. I've also found most gym owners to be pretty unhelpful, although one of the owners at mine is fantastic. He spends all day walking around giving advice or just doing circuits with people to keep them motivated. He also gives free massage :)
Saru Inc
As I stated before, you don't need to go to a gym. If you can do a 30-50 minute slot at home, that will be fine. Do 60 high knees, then 40 squats, then do an exercise, like push/sit ups, then do the high knees and squats again. Then another exercise, then high knees and squats, and so on and so on. You can do it in the morning or after school. I prefer it in the morning, as it isn't as hot, and gets it out of the way. You won't really gain much muscle or effective strength like that. Starting strength is an excellent program that I would fully recommend. Combine it with light cardio (preferably rowing machines) once or twice a week but don't go mad on the cardio. Yeah I was going to post this. Working out at home is no where near comparable to working out at a gym +1 I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. ember3579
I'm actually into this sort of thing, myself. However, I really do NOT have room for anything much larger than a couple dozen pairs of free-weights. I also don't have access to a gym, and don't have the means to get to/from something like that. Also, I'm not so much wanting to lose fat as I am wanting to get combat ready, which means I'm focusing on strength, mobility, and endurance. Care to help me plan something out? It would be well-advised to act as if I know nothing about actual fitness training or it's terms. Thanks for any help you can give! EDIT: Oh, and before I forget, I'm about 6' and 220 pounds. I'm not FAT, but I'm not really in shape, either. I think most of that is that I'm more dense than the average person.
