Pixel daters

Featured Replies

This rant is about pixel daters ruining our runescape experience. Yes pixel daters, those idiots who see someone on runescape and ask them out thinking they have a real gf/bf. I know its against the rules but still more and more people do it (even level 138s). It extremely angers me seeing people sitting in catherby spamming 'blow kiss' and saying "ily ". It is extremely fake and should be bannable

I know some people are just friends, or are dating/married in rl but come on dating in rs!? Rs isnt e harmony (remove if against rules for advert website). Get a life annoying people. Im not in the rants section harly at all but this is turning into an epidemic. Everywhere i look some idiots are spamming kiss and saying "ily" i try and tell them that this is solicitation but they say some stupid comeback like "u wud know stupd hed" or "ur problms not mine" It is just soo annying go outside, get a life, and lose some weight.

I agree, expressing feelings should be allowed, within reason. Though, on the other hand, forming relationships with people in the game, whom you may never meet is rather abnormal, and I doubt many of them will end well. That's one reason why the rule is in place.

There is a place and time for these kinds of things. RuneScape fits neither category. If it gets under your skin, either a) report them within the rules or B) ignore them.

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

I've got friends on runescape I've never met IRL but have know for 5+ years ingame (we all know each other, kinda like a circle of friends). I have pretty strong relationships with them all. I don't think it's really abnormal in any way tbh, it's natural to make good friends through any medium.

If 2 people like eachothers personalities im fine with it, but if its the more obvious things like in game money and some other stupid pointless [cabbage], it should stop.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Knew each other IRL: By all means, do it.

Never met IRL: Hell no.

Just gp somewhere without all those noobs asking for bf/gf. Or go on a skill total world.

I guess, I didn't represent myself properly. I meant in relation to "romance". I too have some good friends from runescape and we've exchanged emails and in some cases, we tend to refer to each other by our real given names. Friends are good :)

lol...i actually have a funny story revolving around this. When I was p2p, I decided to do that recruitment drive quest (you know...the one that only females can beat?). Anyways, I took a trip over to the makeover mage, did the quest, and no more than 5mins after beating it, I had about 5-10 noobs asking me out in my private chat....which is strange...as my username is magermanmye...lol

Because they're enjoying eachothers company?

It's not a bad thing to say ilu in rs. It may annoy some, but it is not against the rules. It is against the rules to follow me and harass me by saying "Will you be my gf?" That to me is annoying. Someone random that I don't even know.

The difference is that some people are more freely loving and used to hugging our in life friends and even a kiss on the cheek. That doesn't mean that I'm their gf. Maybe assume that most people are just those overly lovey kind of people you all know. Dancing and joking with clan mates is just part of the game too.

What difference does it make if we allow more relationships to have the opportunity to suck? I'll be waiting for an answer society.

Get a life annoying people.

I suggest you take your own advice, rather than crying about how other people live theirs in a barely legible manner over the internet.

This hit the nail on the head :)

Can't do anything about those immature pixel daters. Might as well put them on ignore list or something.

While it's good to express feelings, not everyone wants to hear/see it, especially when it's meaningless like "baby..ily<3333333 -spam kiss emote".

Nothing in the rules against things such as the OP is complaining about.

Solictation is actively advertising for a girl/boyfriend on RS. Hell, I can even get around rules and make some sexual references that I can easily say means the other thing.
