Didn't I see the last one before on here somewhere?

The first two, I thought Littleboy made those until I saw your avvy and name. They look cool but you need to work on detail and roughen up those edges if you know what I mean.

@Soa, yeah, pirate_felix made one very similar.

These pieces are really just some brushing, not much work from you LFM.

The palace looks quite blurry compared to the hands

Gimpknowhow tuts right here.

These were pretty fun actually, to a starter in GIMP.

I don't really care for them, it also isn't my style. they're to random like you just grab three brush sets off the net and threw them together and added a color gradient over it.

You should concentrate on making half decent tags before moving to photo manips.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Because making signatures is so important right?

What is wrong with variation. Honestly I think it is one of the best damned things you can do to improve (try something new). If I ran into a snag with one style I would hop over to another. While learning that style I'd end up learning stuff that is useful in other forms of digital art. Really you'd be surprised how much even something like 3D modeling can help with making signatures and such. And as far as photo manips go, as long as he learns more about leading the viewers eye (these are better at that then his signatures) he is learning something. He can just shrink it to signature size anyways. (not using the word tag because I think it sounds [developmentally delayed]ed and kind of pretentious.)

Yes LowFat has not been doing terribly well as of lately but these photo manips are a large step up from his other work. (save for the last photo manip which is really bad).

Anyways:

1

- You've got a focal path correct now. I'll say that leading them on so obviously is sort of a beginner thing to do, but it's much better than having a skewed and/or non-existent focal point.

- Too much [cabbage] going on. You've got an idea but you need to really step back a bit and look at it. There are a lot of just unnecessary things that makes it look sort of ridiculous and very busy. Color as well I would personally work on, some of the areas (his wings) look like crap because of the color

2

-decent typography.

- Same focal comment as #1

- you have a really split focal between the guy and the somewhat light-image of him. Both are close-ish together and are really conflicting the viewer. One is very bright and colorful and the other is very detailed. I would move them closer together to solve that problem. (so that it is one focal and not 2)

- Same thing about all the stuff going on.

For #3 I just don't really like it at all, it's really choppy and I think it is a tutorial?

i appreaciate it alot Nadril. i will work on your suggestions.

I really like the first two. Moreso number 2 than the first, it seems more like abstract pieces were pasted and moved on number 1.

Number 3 I'm not keen on at all to be honest. As I think someone said, the castle looks blurry compared to the rest. Overall just not a likable image. Kudos on number 2 though.

(Note to self: Stop saying number 2 and smirking).

If your going to do something like this detail is the key.

Here's a few:-

  • The waterfall to the top left looks out of place.
  • The shadow of the tower doesn't follow the hand. ie its floating.
  • There's a bad cut off near the thumb on the right and left hand.
  • The light comes from the right, but your shadow is on the right
  • The left hand has a straight line with some cloud along it
  • There's random spots of green from the center image dotted around the hands and cloud.

There's a lot more which you should be able to see.

If you created this using layers try adding black and white layers between each of them and flicking them on and off, once you think you've got them right. That way you can see clearly where there are any parts you've not erased correctly.
