Hegemony Argument Thread

By now, everyone has fair and ample time to send their stats to Archi. I was able to do it on the first day, and I'm one of the oldest members, so I think it is fair to assume that everyone else should have done it by now.

As far as the standardization issue goes, just give a rough estimate to Archi and let him work with you. At least it gives us something to work with.

If you decide not to, then don't be upset when he makes assumptions during a battle, and it causes you to be on the losing end.

Okay my MAS lasers are around 1/2 as powerful as ross's ARC lasers.

Then I am using archnite armor (same as 2meters of steel but with a 80% bonus against ion-weapondry)

Strange matter armor (using strange matter lattices) close to 20 meters of steel?

Composite archnite-tungsten armor. Interlocking layers of archnite and tungsten which act the same as 15 layers of steel and give a 60% bonus against ion weapondry.

That should clear most of it up...

Ok, here're my stats as best I can manage.

For: Railships, Ultra, and Super battleships the standard armor is 3m of tungsten alloy. Shielding is the most powerful possible, given the longest research times on it (ongoing, and I started it first) and the best generators in the game.

For: Dreadnoughts it's 6m thick.

For: Old Sa Matra, it's 10m

For the new one it's 10m as well, but it uses specially designed armor that helps spread the impact over a larger area, reducing the damage.

For Heavy Battleships it's 2m thick, battleships 1m, and fighters and escorts are irrelevant.

Weaponwise:

The "super" laser on the new Sa Matra is I'll say 100x stronger than an ARC cannon. Remember, it takes 500kg of Duna just to fire once, so it's not like this will be really abusable.

I'll say standard lasers are about 1/2 of an Arc Cannon.

Missiles are fusion bombs for my bigger ships, with some standard explosive missiles too. Smaller ships (Below super heavy) use standard missiles only, but they're still powerful. Dreadnoughts and above use Fusion, and Antimatter based missiles (which can basically ignore armor, but I only have a limited number).

Railguns for smaller ships are smaller, and for ultras, supers, and dreadnoughts they are above average. I don't really know what average is, but I'm sure archi can figure it out. My railship fires a 100ton tungsten shell with a nuclear, biologic, or antimatter charge at massive speeds. The new sa matra has four frontward facing guns that do the same. The old Sa Matra has one as well.

What are the PP values for each of those?

My ships blow stuff up, and my marines board other craft.

Dirithanium (absorbs energy attacks) & thick plating (absorbs conventional attacks)

Adjust accordingly, add cheese.

Let's just say they all have 5m plating in armour. TFS Ragnarok has 10.

My ships fire nukes, torpedoes, ion cannons, and projectile weapons (aka bullets).

Whatever.

Armor Values in Iridium Monopole (Basically it protects against matter and energy equally, so they both deplete one value)

Fighter (PP 5)Negligible

Battleship (PP 100): 3 meters Iridium Monopole; No shielding < Note that my battleship costs the same as your heavy battleship

Heavy Battleship (PP 1000): 4.5 M Iridium Monopole; No shielding < Costs the same as your super battleship

Super Battlship (PP 1500): 4.5 M Iridium Monopole; No shielding <Basically the same as Heavy Battleship, but with more weapons and soldiers

Sea Cow Ultra (PP 2500): 4.5 m Iridium Monopole; No shielding;

Sea Bottom Artillery (PP 10,000): 8 M Iridium Monopole; No shielding

Whale Class Ultra Battleship (PP 10,000): 15 M Iridium Monopole; some shields; limited weapons capabilities; carries large amounts of powered pods and biological weapons

My weapons aren't as powerful as everyone elses, but they make up for it by being cheap and numerous. The fleet is designed to destroy in a massive broadside barrage, which can potentially travel for long distances due to the fact that it's space. The larger ships are designed with Iridium Mega Missles, which combust upon impact. Also, all ships greater than a fighter carry biological weapons (viruses) with a gas which allows the viruses to grow quickly and rapidly kill (in a matter of minutes) at the cost of the destruction of the virus (it's sterile and doesn't reproduce).

So as a summary, for someone calculating weapons. Terrible Long ranged, Best Short Ranged (for an equivilant PP value), Boarding weapons which are basically 100% lethal, assuming the armor and shielding of an enemy ship is down.

Now that the second incarnation of Hegemony is dead, what do we do? Should we go ahead and let someone create the inevitable 3rd incarnation, or should we just accept that Hegemony is dead and will never come back from the grave?
