The Beatles may have had better songs but they havn't left the same huge legacy as Elvis has, and they're not as famous I've heard of him but I don't like him...This is for most popular band in the world. I asked my friends who are into rap and they'd only say, 'he's the guy who got shot, isn't he'? And to tell you the truth, I never even heard of any of his songs or fully (well, at least partly) knew him 'til I read about him online. Other than that they (as in Pink Floyd) never really starred any movie. With exception of some of the Docu's and of course some live preformances, but most musicians have those. Going by what people listen to now, it'd be hard to say -- what with people listening to (ill-gotten) MP3s, there's no way to accurately tell who listens to what. (So what I'm saying is that it's not enough now to go by how many CDs/records have been sold). About Tupac... I have a feeling he's more popular in the US than elsewhere. I've only really heard about him on t'internet. The Beatles and Elvis were hugely popular in China, India and Japan, whereas I would imagine that Tupac is less so.
