December 6, 200916 yr Hmm the trouble is that all the weapons typically suck except in very specific situations, and even then only Verac's and Dharok's are worthwhile. You are almost universally better off with a mix-and-match of Barrows armour (Torag/Dharok plate, Verac legs, Verac/Guthan/Torag helm) plus a whip. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
December 6, 200916 yr Only pieces i find useful from barrows are the Chest and Leg pieces. The helm is covered by the Neitz and the Whip+Rune Defender beats all other weapons. For now I'm slaying in Torags Top and Veracs skirt. December 6, 200916 yr I strongly suggest you either get TORAGS BODY + LEGS if you are poor If not, GUTHANS FULL SET gives an amazingly useful effect which you can use to train melee afk in several places (Bandits, Kalphites etc...) If you DO get TORAGS BODY + LEGS then definitely use it with a NEITZ HELM and a WHIP + rune DEFENDER !!!

But if you can afford it - full Guthans is incredibly useful for things like slayer, not worrying about food and being able to stay indefinitely is really useful. If you combine it with a whip and only use the spear when you need healing, you can make it last a bit longer too. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].

I'm slaying to L85 atm and I just take whip, r defender & slayer mask with me...Makes me do most assignments without banking... 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)

The full Torag's set has the highest defense of the melee sets, but not because the defense bonuses are higher than the other sets--it's because it combines the exact same defense bonuses as the best pieces from the other sets. Torag's helm has the exact same stats as Guthan's helm; Torag's platelegs have the exact same stats as Dharok's; and all three of their platebodies are identical. December 8, 200916 yr Get veracs skirt for sure. Costs like 1.1m so thats 1.9m left over. I'd say get maybe a dharok plate with that, its like 600-900k, cant remember, that still eave you with 1m to play with.
