archimage_a
Lets hold a tournement! Of what? Well that depends on what people have got. Myself and Paul are thinking are running a Civ IV/BTS game and were wondering if people were interested in joining in. Since Civ takes such a long time to play we are thinking about running it in sessions once a week of a few hours. We are currently having some firewall problems so there is also the chance that we will be playing by email! Which will be epic funs. I am also thinking of running an Orbis(Mod of Civ IV) game, but it sort of depends on who is interested =) Anyway if anyone else wants to run a game then please post it here and I will edit it into this post: Disclaimer, neither Tip It nor Archimage A are responsible for content you may experiance while playing online, we do not accept any responsibility for any accident or incident involved with you playing or thinking/talking/typing about playing. paul191600
For those that have or are thinking of getting civ 4:We (Archi and I) were planning on using the Beyond the Sword expansion, version 3.19. Also, we wanted to try out a mod for it, which you can find more details on http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7358 . We wouldn't use any of the optional sub mods for this mod, which you can un-check while installing the mod. archimage_a
Not a huge amount, it is mainly graphical(So Far As I Can See). However virtually all good mods are for Beyond the Sword, and Beyond the Sword is just a really good game anyway. I am not sure if Orbis or Rise of Erbus will work for Civ 4 on its own...I will find out later.;In any case Beyond the Sword improves the game in a number of ways...but if people can't get hold of a copy then Civ 4 is still an alright game :-P Warlords might work...it would be good to check(As I don't have it) http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. ThurinEthir
I also only have up to Warlords. There are like 2 mods for it. <_< (Though one of them, RFC, is awesome - too bad it only has multiplayer for BtS) Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. paul191600
Yes, the point of the mod I posted is to add cultural diversity, which Civ 4 was lacking in on some parts. Now almost all the factions have unique looking units, so no more generic European axemen for almost all the factions etc... It also adds new cultures for cities, so now the Middle eastern, Indian, Mongolian, Khmer, South America, and Native American cities have their own unique look. It also changes some of the building models to fit in with the different cultures. I also have warlords, so I could still play a multiplayer game using that, if the need arises. I highly recommend BTS, though, due the the new civs, changes, and large amount of mods that you can download for it. It is pretty cheap now as well. TTanT
How about a Medieval 2 tourny? We can each have a set amount of funds and choose with that, maybe. Or do a hotseat campaign. Or maybe even a team match where several people attempt to take a ridiculously strong citadel or bridge position. The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.[hide=Tifers say the darndest things]I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.I would laugh, not hate. paul191600
Ttan, I could play a hotseat campaign, perhaps one of the kingdom campaigns? Those ones were fun. TTanT
So, we need to decide upon a good time, which version to use, and those things, I guess.... I'm generally free on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as 4:00+ on any weekday other than Wednesday or Thursday. Oh, and my repeated calvary charges reinforced with good archers will destroy your infantry.
