January 3, 201016 yr if someone hooks me up with an iPhone I'll write an app to access GE. ultra noob zomg
January 3, 201016 yr A GE application would be easy to make I think :)I could quite easily make a link that shows prices of items but I don't know about code a full iPhone application. [-- DYNAMIC SIGNATURES FOR RUNESCAPE 3 & OLDSCHOOL 2007 RUNESCAPE --]

January 3, 201016 yr Author Once completed, a separate app would be easier, less clunky, and have everything in one place. Unfortunately, I can't learn to code an app and make one because I don't have a computer with OSX <_< . "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update. January 3, 201016 yr There needs to be an app where you can play runescape on your iphone/itouch LOL.

January 3, 201016 yr Kind of off topic, but you actually can play Runescape on the iphone/itouch. Google it. Worked for me. I wouldn't mind someone making a Runescape helping app. Could be useful in boring times on the road.

January 4, 201016 yr What you basically want is for Jagex to create a mobile friendly web page for the Runescape domain. You do not need a whole app to be made, just a web page that fits and is friendly to mobile devices.
January 4, 201016 yr Author What you basically want is for Jagex to create a mobile friendly web page for the Runescape domain. You do not need a whole app to be made, just a web page that fits and is friendly to mobile devices. Perhaps. But personally, I find the RuneScape website to be very slow. I would prefer something a bit faster. If Jagex made a mobile-friendly version of their website, it would probably also be slow and it might have advertisements, which eat up a lot of the very small amount of screen space on an iPhone or iPod touch. That is why I think the ideal is for a non-jagex party to make an iPhone app. The web app that bballer is making seems really good so far! January 4, 201016 yr Personally, I think a RS app would be nice. I think that (some of) the following should be in such an app:Adventurer's LogHiscoresWorld MapGE (Possibly with the ability to view your offers) If you jump into a river in Paris, you're insane. If you jump into a river in Egypt, you're in denial.

I have an iPod Touch, so not quite, but I would find an RS app really useful. January 5, 201016 yr I have an iPhone, and although the idea of a Grand Exchange App seems practical, it isn't really of much use if you're already at a computer. And it's not like you're going to run to the nearest computer when your iPhone tells you that the Grand Exchange updated so you can try and buy a Party Hat. January 5, 201016 yr I have an iPhone, and I've played Runescape on it via Remote Desktop (the WinAdmin app) to a real computer and logging in from the real computer. It's fairly slow though, right click is tricky, and you have to scroll to see the full screen. I've used it to check on the GE and put in new GE offers, but I wouldn't dare do anything like monster killing with it. I think a very useful native iPhone app would be one that lets you view and update your GE offers. That way if you're away from your computer you can still see how things are doing, or if you're in class when a new update comes out that causes everything to crash, you can put all your stuff on GE for min. An app like this would require the users to trust that the app programmer isn't secretly storing and stealing their Runescape passwords though. I've also at some point wondered why there aren't more Runescape apps, and decided that maybe it's because Jagex doesn't want third parties using the name Runescape (trademarked) to make money, since it may imply some sort of sanctioning which isn't actually the case. So even if someone does make a good Runescape app for the iPhone, I don't know if they'd be allowed to keep it up in the App store without Jagex approval. Lastly, here's a computer-based app that I've written that I check very often; it tells me how my bank is doing relative to each GE update, what the best/worst performing items are, and can also graph my own net worth over time: I've thought about making an iPhone native version of this (so I can check from anywhere how my bank is holding up), but think I decided that I didn't really want to commit to indefinitely providing the expected support for such an app (e.g. rewriting the GE scraping code if Jagex ever changed their page formats, upgrading my server if it became popular, etc).
January 6, 201016 yr Would an interface like: Work? What are you using to pull the data from the Runescape website? Objective-C?
January 6, 201016 yr Would an interface like: Work? What are you using to pull the data from the Runescape website? Objective-C? I used C# to do so (Used Visual Studio 2008). I am learning Obj. C and C++ so I can write multi-platform applications. I used C# to pull data then vb to actually parse it using reg-ex. Hopefully in a month or two I will have learned enough to do some basic Iphone applications. [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]

March 6, 201016 yr Author i have made accatly what you have said a runescape app with, a map money making guide and experience talbe + skills guideThere are a couple of similar apps in the App Store now that were not there when I created this topic. Frankly, they are all useless. Most players know the best ways to make money or train skills and if they do not, that information can be found for free online. Most of those guides are outdated, too, or simply copied and pasted from older such resouces. I saw one guide instructing you to make certificates, which have not existed since RSC! If this is the kind if app you're going to create, please don't. "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update.
