Igos goes to question the monks. He asks, "Are you responsible for bringing these ailments upon the people? Why are you here, and who sent you?"

I tell them yes, but that another friend of mine is coming to meet us and that I would like to talk to him.

Grim goes to the Ikanan library via tunnel travel and looks for books upon acessing the power of staffs. He also attempts to feed the staff energy from his life crystal.

-Igos

"Do you think that it can't be a coincedence that every time we pass through, these people are afflicted by these problems? Maybe it's just weather changes. We are only passing through, as all the roads in the area seem to pass through this town."

The citizenry appear poised to strike at any moment.

-Poseidon

Once again, you fail epically. Losing your balance, you fall into the river and are washed downstream. When you awaken, you are being poked by several children with a stick.

-Nex

"No one has informed us of this friend. Who is he?"

-Grim

All the books seem to have no mention of accessing the power of staves, perhaps because it's so ridiculously obvious that they don't need to mention it. The staff quickly absorbs the energy from the life crystal, leaving you a dead life crystal.

"Ah, there he is now. Igos, I believe he is the leader of this town? Anywho, evidently his citizens think you are harmful in some way. But who knows, it could be a curse from those who would harm the church! I will accompany you."

(heh can I get a tip on this or am I high and dry?) Grim attempts to telepathically talk with the staff after it's meal of a life crystal. Grim then looks through the books for master craftsmen.

Ooh, bad idea Twinkletide, you'll drown yourself. Also, you probably don't need to heal.

Igos tells the citizens to calm down before talking to the monks more about their mission.

You follow them into Ikana and see the monks being hit by flying fruits and vegetables.

-Nex

"Ah yes, he must be the new fellow. Of course, there is more than one church, but ours is obviously the best."

Suddenly, a stone hits the monk in the back of the head, knocking him unconcious. The people jeer and high four each other, probaly the result of the finger eating plague several years back.

-Grim

(Well the books didn't really expect a weak wizard to possess such a powerful weapon)

The staff hums back, but you don't understand what it says. You find several listings for master craftsmen in Ikana.

-Poseidon

The kids don't feel frightened, and start whacking you with sticks, dealing little damage.

-Igos

The citizens knock out the head monk with a rock, and the other monks close together in a defensive circle around the head monk. The citizens begin celebrating.

Hmm... Karl puts the staff in hammerspace and goes to the craftsman offering him 10,000 gold to make a plate robe set out of the leviathan scales. He then attempts to project himself into the staff.

I apologize to the monks, saying that I cannot assist at the moment, and then shoot into the sky and begin flying around, looking for a river and a man being attacked by children.

The remaining monks don't really want to talk to you, or they are unable to talk to you.

-Grim

The staff doesn't seem to want to go into hammerspace. You head to a respected craftsman in Ikana, asking him to make a platerobe set out of Leviathan scales.

"My my sir...this will take a lot of work to finish. I'll probaly have to go out of town to get supplies...and find a specialty forge. 50,000 gold, take it or leave it. It's a magical item, requiring magical forges and magical equipment. That costs a lot to rent ya know."

-Poseidon

The kids feel really frightened at your water balls, and flee back inland.

-Nex

You fly to the former location of Potsdell, where you notice that a small settlement has sprung up again. There seems to be a lot of commotion. You find a man by a river, who seems to have been attacked just a few moments ago.

I unleash the full power of the earthquake spell I originally imbued into the man's trident, making sure it's all directed into him and the trident itself and not the settlement, and then land in the settlement, saying hello to anyone I meet and asking if the village needs assistance.
