Dungeoneering

Last roll since Dnd is starting

-Igos

A brawl breaks out as the citizens begin closing in with various riot implements. The monks seem well adapted to combat, and down a few citizens, while not seeming the slightest bit injured. The head monk seems to be awakening.

-Grim

"That is acceptable. Come back in a few days, and I'll have it finished. Would you like just the plate robe, or a helmet as well?"

-Nex

The earthquake spell seems to have dissapated over time, and has no effect. A mob seems to have gathered, and when they see your magic, they begin charging at you. It seems the incident with the ice witch has made them very angry.

-Poseidon

You see an angry mob heading in your direction, and decide it's best not to practice magic at this time.

In the absence of a DnD session, I'll be hosting a session of Dungeoneering in the afternoon, when there are three people ready. Please check to see if I'm on the active users list. If I'm not on it, then if you post saying you're here, then I'll have to ask again when I do get on. So please wait until I'm on.

The only books you find about such staffs are books of lore and legend. There are many examples of flashing lights and mages destroying swaths of enemies with a single raise of their staff, but you find nothing technical.

-Hakon

The sword seems to easily turn in your hand, revealing its simple yet efficient cutting edge and guarded pommel. It is rather light and moves exactly where you want it to quite easily.

I put all my weaponry except one broadsword into the hammerspace. I drive the broadsword into the ground next to me, and kneel to the villagers. I amplify my voice slightly using sound magic to address the villagers, saying:

"Good citizens, I understand your reluctance to accept mages such as myself. I have heard that you fell afoul of the demonic Ice Witch. Not long ago I owned a bar on the road to Ikana, and on the first day of business my bar was assaulted. My bar nearly collapsed upon myself and my patrons, and while I led my customers to safety we were attacked; The Ice Witch appeared on the road, with foul minions, and nearly killed us! We all might have died, if not for another sourcerous demon in the crowd, a Lich! The Lich evidently saw the Ice Witch as competition, and entrapped her, myself, and my patrons with a horde of skeletons! Several of the civilians were killed in the battle, though my golems and I protected them as best we could. The Ice Witch, wounded and weakened, fled from the battle and back to her mountain, only to die shortly later for reasons I do not know... Allowing me to escort the civilians back to Ikana. You see, I am a powerful mage and one who follows the path of good, I could be your greatest ally and protect this village from harm! Of course, if you do not want me then I shall leave immediately, and not return without invitation. It is your choice."

tl;dr:

I try to convince the villagers that I am a good mage, unlike the Ice Witch, and that I will serve their village and protect them.

In a twist of irony, when you are reading a book on fire magic, a fire breaks out in the "Magical Ailments" section and begins to burn through the library. Smoke fills the room.

-Nex

One of the village elders hobbles over to you, and pokes you in the chest lightly with his cane. He remarks quite sarcastically, "If you're as good as you say, why don't you drive out the witch covens in the caves nearby. With the destruction of Caster, they've had free reign over the area. Why don't you finish them off?"

Grim uses geomancy to smother the flames (coat them with a thin layer of stone). He attempts to open up a tunnel out of the library and bring as many books as possible out as well.

I bow. "It would be my honour, sir. Oh, and please do not kill the man with the trident. You may be greatly tempted, but it would be best to leave him alone. He knows next to nothing about his powers as a water mage, as you probably guessed by the fact that he nearly drowned in that river, and might cause chaos with his lack of common sense."

When he tells me the location, I fly to the caves. When I get to the cave I charge a geomancy spell.

You manage to take a bundle of books out of the library, putting them in a pile outside near the other books that the other patrons pulled out. The library start collapsing, and it seems to be just a pile of ashes by now. The flames are still burning strong.

-Nex

"As you wish...The coven is deep in the woods however, and you won't be able to fly with those wings. Maybe if you were smaller. We can send a guide with you, if you'd like."

I temporarily remove my wings to reintegrate to my armour later, and set off with the guide. I transmogrify the trees in our path into metal, explaining to the guide that my magic focuses on the use of metal, and that it would be advantageous for me to have as much as possible. I also charge an allomancy spell.

You stow your wings away and you set off with your guide. He appears rather scrawny and doesn't seem to be able to put up much of a fight, wielding his small hiking staff. The trees resist your transmogrification, though you charge your allomancy spell. You come across a rather large bear, who doesn't seem to have noticed you.

-Grim

You manage to smother the flames, though the building seems thoroughly destroyed anyways.

I continue charging the spell, and also form shields of wind and sound magic around the guide to deflect physical attacks and magic. I try redirecting some of my lifestone's healing capabilities towards him, since it currently doesn't need to power my wings.

The librarian takes them back to her home for refurbishment, but they won't be on loan for a while.

-Nex

You form small shields around the guide, though they don't look that strong. The lifestone healing capabilities seem to be completely attached to limb regeneration and are fused to the wings, making it unable to be removed without lessening its healing effect.

The bear notices you, and turns its head to the side questioningly.

I attempt to speak into the mind of the bear, saying that we are dangerous creatures, and that we are just passing through it's land. I say we are not seeking food or shelter, we are trying to kill people who are trespassing so that the bear will have the lands to itself. If it tries to attack, I form bands of stone around it's paws. I continue charging the allomancy spell, and continue following the guide through the forest.

The glistening platerobe has been constructed. The leviathan scales seem hard as metal plates, yet surprisingly light. The craftsman takes the rest of his fee, and thanks you for your business.

"One thing I forgot to mention, leviathan scales work well with magic. To strengthen them further, it would be wise to consult an experienced mage. I don't know though, their fees are usually magical artifacts."

-Nex

The bear's mind seems to be corrupted, and it doesn't understand you. It easily breaks free of your bands of stone, pouncing on your guide and ripping away at the shields. It quickly breaks through and starts clawing at his face.

-Earth

You get lost in a frozen tundra, and start freezing to death.
