The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

Australia urges nations not to get involved. Since Japan has a high population, if the technology you have is the same as theirs and you go to war, they'll have an advantage.

Until I'm destroyed by the combined nations of the UN?

Besides, I'll have a larger technological advantage anyways if they don't help out, so it would be to their advantage to join in.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

I disagree. If you're doing your own projects then you research it slower, but you have unique techs which may be strong against another nations techs and such.

It would not be to their advantage to join in, it has a mix of advantages and disadvantages, but the main disadvantage is that Japan could beat them in a war due to population.

2Xeo5.png

Except that I'm researching basically everything anyways? I just made a giant list of everything I was researching earlier, though the list was mainly construction projects. After those, then I believe I can just research everything in equal amounts.

Remember that population doesn't mean victory. You can't transport 500,000 soldiers across the ocean just because you have them.

-------

EDIT: When I first started the game, I was under the impression research projects costed a lot of money. Then I figured out they only cost a billion at most, so then I figured, why not just go ahead and research every possible thing you can think of?

I'm pretty sure most nations here have unique tech which you do not have and are not researching, secret or otherwise.

2Xeo5.png

Well of course, but there's always going to be a lot of techs that someone can't think about. Anyways, my point is that your argument for exoskeletons doesn't make any sense, since if you think about it, there are two scenarios.

Scenario 1: Only your network of nations research exoskeletons, so you're the only one with exoskeletons. < Advantage for you

Scenario 2: Everyone researches exoskeletons, so everyone has them and they cancel each other out. < Balanced for everyone

I don't see anything good for people in either scenario, but there's definitely something that isn't that good in the first one.

Population is irrelevant. And exosuits aren't uber weapons, they're just a metal suit.

It also uses up your valuable funding, to create something which brings you to balanced terms.

Again I say, do not be drawn into Japan's trickery. International military projects make little sense.

2Xeo5.png

Well since it's Australia and Switzerland researching it, a small contribution from everyone should be able to match that. Then people send their scientists, and then there are more resources for the project, with each nation contributing a miniscule amount to what amounts to basically as a free tech.

Yes, I am definitely looking out for the interests of myself and not for the interests of those that could possibly be steamrolled by Abbysnia with a load of exosuit soldiers.

2Xeo5.png

Well I don't really have much to gain anyways. My exosuits are only two or three years behind yours. With world help, then the development could move further ahead at a quicker rate.

On another note, with deflating tensions in Africa and the construction of a military/naval base on the border of Ghana and the Ivory Coast, the Second Japanese fleet returns to home waters, to their official postings.

Japanese researchers discover there is no trace of lead based paint anywhere on the product...nor any traces of paint at all. After concluding their tests, they had several lego blocks from both Scandanavia and Abbysnia. They started playing with both of them, and realized that the legos either didn't fit easily, or they took too much effort to pull apart.

Legos from both countries have been pulled off the market, until they can be up to the quality standards of normal legos.

:wall:

LEGO is of Danish invention, my LEGO is the normal LEGO, why did you think Legoland is in Denmark?

Also our exoskeletons are the best yet Retech, they have dart-missiles.

I meant the legos manufactured in Abbysnia by Scandanavian companies. The factories must have been terribly built. :P

Japanese researchers have discovered that it was due to the strange properties of their research room that the legos weren't working properly. Legos built by Scandanavia overseas have been allowed back on the market.

Beg to differ Mather, mine (And Archi's) have some pretty awesome features of their own. Or will have, at least. Mine are fully completed in 2023.5.

Also, I fail to see how Lego could be created badly by anyone who is the least bit competant, so Abyssinian Lego is good as well.

Ours will be ready in 2026, using Ross' timeline of things. (I figure that since we started about 2.5 years after, we should finish 2.5 years after. Unless you have any objections?)

No objections, that seems fine.

Ours are still being researched (just enchanced as they allready exist) and who can beat an incoming missile the size of a dart.

Scandinavia starts researching a way to make pacemakers that don't require and physical conection with the heart. (1 month?)

Japan decides to shutter the international exoskeleton project, since there doesn't seem to be much use for it anyway. This was done in an effort to mend relations with Australia, and the fact that Japan was also disadvantaged by the project, as was Australia.

Basically keep it as a project just between Scandanavia and Japan.

Oh Ross, what would you say would be a good price for an exoskeleton?

In other news, the expected shortage of manpower for the Japanese Navy is approaching quickly, within the next five years. Incentives have been increased, and a major ad campaign extolling the patriotism of joining the navy is being run. One of the problems with the manpower supply is that the naval officers and personnel are some of the highest trained soldiers in the world, with their training double that of the army.

The reserves of the army have been reduced to 500,000 soldiers. Those soldiers who were laid off (500,000) are being reschooled in naval camps, as well as returning to secondary reservist service, which is a voluntary drilling once a week.

No idea whatsoever. With additional costs, I'd assume around 200-250k each.

2Xeo5.png

So arming my entire military would cost...125 billion. Are you sure they aren't more expensive? It doesn't seem so expensive right now to field exosuits.
