So basic situation is Indonesia has a few hundred thousands peacekeepers present.

Indonesia is under nominal control of Italy until elections can be held, though Italy has very little control in practice, since the UN is constantly watching their backs.

Japan has no influence over Indonesia currently due to it insulting the UN and trying to commit acts of Genocide.

 

This situation will remain, unless I or Sere say otherwise, until the 3rd of March, when elections will be held.

The Federation (including some organizations of Indonesians living in Japan, who would be threatened if Indonesia broke off) spreads a small amount of propaganda about how the Federal Union and Free Trade parties share many common ideas. They are both in some way Pro-Japanese, they both support trade (since the Federation did start out as a trading organization, like the Hanseatic league).

 

The Federation and several organizations note that in the Federation, there are government officials from all the nations in Federation, and that they still have just as much of a voice as they did when they were independant.
