The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

Retech, if you give me Indonesia, I will allow you to dismantle most of the defenses, and I'll pay a specified sum of money over 20 years or so.

Algae is everywhere already, it doesn't need my help to spread it. Anyways, do you really want to strike a country at this time?

--------

Japan pays the tonnes of gold it has, down to 975 tonnes (it had a bit more than that, so I am rounding it now) to convince the National Algae Association to relocate its headquarters to Osaka, Japan. They are being given free housing and food costs, if they continue working on the Algae.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Sorry Ross. My main problem with it is that I was using it as a shield, and you don't share the same foreign policy as me. So say if someone attacked me, you wouldn't necessarily use the defensive wall to block them, because you might be destroyed. So I would be losing a valuable defence.

-------

Archi, I meant that I had over 975, and that I was rounding it down to 975 to do the action listed.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

Retech I think its a good idea to give up Indonesia, if you don't you live with tension... If you do, then you just lose a country thats not even that close to you anyway...

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Of course they're plenty close. I've already sunken my entire budget surplus for two years into it, and created millions of jobs. So there's no tension. :P Not to mention that they feel much more secure with the big defences I put in place.

Sorry about that Archi. I have a confusing roundabout way of speaking. So could you please change gold reserves to 975 tonnes plox? Oh, and sorry for accusing you of trying to over moderate. :P

By tension, I mean with Australia....

Retech, secure against who, exactly? Everyone except Australia is in the Pacific Federation....Kinda like Scotland building a wall to protect itself from England and France... One is its ally and the other is across the sea.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Oh, well tensions will cool when both of us realize that we aren't going to attack each other. Besides, if he does attack me, then I'll have my defensive line. :D

Never can be too sure about Rocco over there. :)

Retech, the only thing Indonesia is defending you from is me. And really, if you were to give me the island, I would never really think to attack you anyway. On the other hand, if I ever end up raging again, I have no idea what I'd do.

I can repay you for the defenses over several dozen years, instead of you dismantling them, if you want, I just really need the extra population.

Indonesia doesn't really form a buffer between you and Rocco anyway.

This whole foreign policy of having buffer zones reminds of the Hittite-Egyptian battles over the area around Kadesh.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kadesh

You see, what ends up happening is that an empire will take an area as a 'buffer zone' against an invasion, meaning its an expendable area of land meant to be sacrified for the preservation of the homeland (ala Russian defensive strategy, or Roman border expansion to protect Rome). The problem is that over time, the defense of the buffer zone becomes indistinquishable from the defense of the homeland, so it defeats the entire purpose of taking the land in the first place.

Having Indonesia isn't going to keep you any more safe than without it. It would be more wise to build the defenses in Japan rather than Indonesia, since one could always just bypass Indonesia and go straight for Japan anyways. Having a buffer zone that is an island is way less effective than a land buffer zone anyways.

Well if you look at the map, he can't really go through the South pacific without passing Indonesia. He'd have to go all the way around and attack Japan, which is also defended by the same defences.

Not to mention all my algae growing stuff is in Indonesia. :P

Ah yes... India....always had an eye on Indonesia...what with all its Free Asian Radio...looks like a dark cloud on the horizon...In fact S-Net found this video

I can provide dismantling and transport for that, if you wish. Free of charge, of course. Hell, I'll even pay you to move it.

Sorry Ross, a nope is a nope. Indonesia is a big part of my plans for the coming few years, and one of my primary goals. Of course, if India tried to go through Asia, there's a little blocker called China there. :D

Great, stuck with 30 million or so population. Guess plan B is go. Plan B is secret of course.

2Xeo5.png

If it is anything like my Plan XII it involves building a nuclear arsnal and blowing up Japan...Which is as good a plan as any =P

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I don't want to seperate my landmass by that much though. Indonesia was pretty much perfect.

Plan B should be finished in 7-9 years. Plan C might follow, if I'm unlucky.

Are you building them with Indian troops? I had already blockaded the area all around Malaysia from military equipment and Indian troops, which was still effective from the previous incident.

Switzerland decides to pay India back for saving thousands of people during the UN embargo by providing Stratos Jets, along with one P-Jet, thus allowing India to bypass the blockade.

Rocco, we are even now.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Japan replies that any efforts to remove the blockade will utterly fail, because Japan has a known navy at least twice as large as the Indian navy. Japan brings part of its newly created fleet and 150,000 soldiers ready to attack, if Indian troops do not leave Malaysia.
