That's fine. I'm the kind of person who cannot stand losses (a munchkin, as Ross would say), so I guess I was sorta fated in fighting an apocalyptic total war with millions of casualties on both sides. Japan tells the UN that it will allow inspectors in after the business of war is concluded. It says that it will not use anthrax weapons unless it looks like Indonesia is going to be conquered, since the UN doesn't seem to be willing to help when Japan is being attacked.

 

This statement came AFTER the UN ordered you to comply.

 

And of course the UN wouldn't help Japan. It tries its best to be neutral. That would be like the UN helping the Taliban because the US and NATO invaded Afghanistan and Iraq... or the UN helping Saddam because the US invaded and toppled his government.

The UN kicks Japan out of the UN and issues an all country embargo for the deaths of 30 American prison officers, 2 pilots and 4 catering staff, who were killed by the Robot Decoy Japan sent. The UN has condemned Japan's conduct during the war, and the continued beligerance of the power, despite continued calls for peace and settlement over the issues involved by both sides. Further more Japan is still understood to have a Biological Weapon Arsenal and thus must immediately cease and desist while UN weapon inspectors confiscate the articles.

Again this has been done under resolution 377 since Japan is/was on the Security Council.

 

The UN has decreed that Russia, the Federation and China are to sent 30% of their armed forces, under the terms of the Sere Directive, to intervene in Indonesia immediately, placing the area under UN protection, allowing neither side to exploit the local situation.

 

The UN has also demanded that North Korea immediately withdraws from South Korea and asks the Federation to send troops to liberate the area should the requests go unheeded.

 

The Phillipine Government has rejected urges to rejoin the Federation, esspecially since being threaten with economic destruction if they did not comply. As such they have invited Italian Corporations to take up the mantle from Japan, should Japan continue to withdraw its Economic Stimulus.

 

COSS has unexpectedly deorbited, crashing headlong into Haakonsvern, destroying a large part of the Scandinavian Navy and cutting a large portion of the supply lines to the underwater cities. Reports of starvation are coming in, as well as people trying to escape from the cities, flooding out parts of them.

The Swiss Navy, on loan from the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, happened to be conducting training exercises in the area over some of the underwater cities, and have been evacuating them. However the cities showed signs of rapid decay, and thus have collapsed. Switzerland has published reports indicating that the underwater cities were death traps, effectively walking timebombs and it is just thankful that this disaster happened and saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

A U3 mission(Mainly by Switzerland) to help their Scandinavia sisters, which happened to be located onboard one of the aircraft carriers, present for the training, has proceeded to Haakonsvern, and immediately began clean up operations, saving some five people. Eyewitnesses report that 'They seemed less interested in saving people than in cleaning the debries'.

After approximately an hour the Scandinavian Emergency Forces arrived at the scene and the U3 aid workers were quick to leave the scene.

 

The COSS crash investigation subsquently lead to the conclusion that the station was struck by some sort of small metorite, which caused a deorbiting effect which the thrusters onboard the ship could not, for some reason, counternace. However Black Box recordings do not indicate a metor, or in fact any reason for the station to suddenly deorbit. The voice recording do not indicate anything was amiss for some minutes, whereupon someone commented that 'The Earth Looked Bigger' and after a few more minutes confirmed that they were on a decent vector. Emergency Escape Pods were launched and have been transported to Scandinavia where the Scientists have been reunited with their familes. However this threw up an even more scary prospect as it seems that one of the escape pods sporadically lost control and began decending too fast, burning up in the atomsphere.

S-Net has published numerous speculations as to what might have caused these two craft to have sporatically lost control. Indeed these two, it seems, have been the last in a long line of inexplicable satalite crashes. Curiously all the re-entry bodies burnt up, with the except on COSS, thus seeming to indicate a supra-natural phenomeon at work. To which there has been endless specuation as to the origin of such a force.

 

Scandinavian scientific reports have stated the relatively obvious 'coincidential' nature of Switzerland, in additon to earlier threats to deorbit COSS. Switzerland has refused to comment on allegations of involvement but has renewed pledges to stay out of international politics, since, its seems, every time they try to do good, such as saving the civilians in the Underwater cities, they are tarred unfairly with critisism.

 

Chinese RFG measures have run into some unexpected problems with some of the rods being unexpectedly triggared, fortunately no one was injured when they crashed ineffecively into the Pacific Ocean, however the UN has freaked out and is demanding instant removal of the RFG system until the source of this inexplicable force can be identified.

 

In other news, Uzbekistan has declared independance and has shot the Turkish collaborators and any Turk who happened to be in the country at the time. Casualties indicate some 3,000 civilian deaths and 200 military deaths. The new Uzbekistan Independance Party has announced an immediate end to the war with Turkey, less the ICBMs that were installed in their country should 'accidently' fall into Japanese hands or be launched on Turkey itself.

 

Tensions have continued to rise in the Dutch Federation with calls for Independance being acknowladged by all parties, except the Federation Party, which currently holds power. The elections, starting in 2 months time, will likely lead to an immediate change in power though. The American and British Federation have both renewed pledges to send troops to any Federation Nation which has been 'Democractically Challanged'.
