If your attack still happened, then we have to recalculate things, since Rocco isn't going ahead with his. I will defend myself, but I will not seek retribution unless you attack again afterwards. Good luck though, the only serious damage inflicted was by the ICBMs.

 

The invasion of Indonesia would have probaly failed though, since there was a fleet around there, amounting to 10 super carriers, and their escorts.

Or you could just do what most nations normally do to reign in uber-powers. Ask them to stop invading everything? I just got a bit nation munchy happy, that's all. :P Besides, since the attack basically didn't happen, then Japan's relation to Australia is still the same: mutual distrust, though not necessarily hostility.

We probaly would end in stalemate. My land forces would be too weak to invade Russia, and Russia's navy wouldn't be on par to fight mine. So we'd be stuck in the situation of trying to bomb each other's people that occasionally walk along.

 

Besides, I've already experienced repercussions of invading stuff. So I decided to reign it back, allow Madagascar independance, and go back to my South Pacific realm where I do best.

Russia is one of the biggest countries. You could stalemate Japan from the start.

 

Smaller countries can do [bleep] all against the 650 million or so population and apparently uber GDP without superweapons like ICBMs. Hey, did we just go back to square one?

Also, just pointing out that 60% of the population of Australia is in cities. Then you add Guinea, and Guinea + cities probaly adds up to 90%. Then if you even assume half of those die...

Why not try wild expansion, a few years of real crap GDP (like Japan should get) and then after it, your then quite powerful.

GDP wasn't actually the issue that I was really opposed to. It was more of the fact that Tokyo was instantly incinerated, and that somehow North Korea attacked South Korea because South Korea was left defenceless after the ICBM stuff. GDP stuff, that actually makes sense, since decrease in trade and war generally decreases that.

Taking any other land would mean going to another continent, which is something I really didn't want to do. Hence I wanted Indonesia in the first place.

Well since you banned ICBMs, Rocco didn't want to use the bombs that Russia originally had (forgot the name). So their attack consists of an invasion of Indonesia, against an undamaged force (since the invasion was only mildly successful after ICBMs blew up most of the defences), and that's it?

I'll just go ahead and pretend I took a 30% GDP cut (since that's basically the most damage that happened, out of any of the scenarios), and I'll just add the research time for some more projects to compensate for any budget I lost, when you and Archi decide on the compromise. Is that fair?

 

Japan, having completed its naval building project, has finished its 4th and final fleet. Named the Malay-Indonesian fleet, it is the last fleet completed as part of the naval building program. The program costs have been reduced from the earlier 120 billion to 5 billion, for further research and development. Some of the new surplus is used for rebuilding the parts of Japan that may or may not have been destroyed by the war that may or may not have happened, while some more goes into working on even further defences.

 

Madagascar has been given a two-party governance system, and has been given independance. Japan deeply apoligizes for its intervention, and says that it will keep its presence to Asia.

Australia is pissed off at the world, but continues with it's projects regardless. Exosuits are now finished and will be upgraded periodically. Genetics have given us a syrum which protect against some common poisonous substances. Work is being done to increase the effectiveness of this syrum.

 

Australia begins adding an increasingly huge number of anti-missile defenses to it's borders and citiies, and other general fortifications.

Sere told me to play modestly, so I took a conservative view and went with that. Any compromise is going to result in less damage, so I'm assuming maximum damage and compensating the money lost when they do reach a compromise, so that it's fair. (For example, if they decide 15% GDP cut and I went with 30%, then I'd add up any lost income that I would've had if I had assumed a 15% cut in the first place).

I think I understand quite perfectly. Sere says there will be a compromise done on Saturday. I am to play modestly until that time, so I am assuming maximum damage and correcting it when the compromise comes. Basically, I am taking a temporary hit now, and going with a bonus later on to make it inline with the compromise. I don't see how that's ignoring Sere.
