ICBM's are gone, missiles aren't....

That's absurd. Now all the money I spent on missile defense is gone.

 

People just use them stupidly, in a way that would never happen in real life.

 

I'm fine with ICBMs, but Rocco ruined it for everyone. The decision to ban ICBMs was unanimous.

 

Also, ICBMs are different from other missiles. You still have missiles that can, say, strike Iran from Israel. I'm not sure what the term for them is.

 

Just Intercontinental Ballistics Missiles are banned. You know, the ones that can fly from one half of the world and hit the other and apparently takes only a few to destroy an entire city. (Which is absurd since nukes are banned. I think the damage was over-exaggerated, to be honest.)

And, no, it's not "country with most troops wins". If China declared war against the USA in real life, the United States would very likely win, even though China has more people. The USA just has superior technology.

ICBMs and other weapons of mass destruction just make the game end a lot quicker, especially when the reasons that nukes were banned in the first place was that if Russia and the US had a billion nukes...the world would've ended several years ago.

Actually my navy is mainly hundreds of destroyers. And for every supercarrier, there are 5 frigates. Frigates just happen to be anti-submarine ships. :P

You can sell the ones you have left... You should kind of go with tech that isn't so wth overpowered.

 

Or run it by mods.

Proposal:

 

Everything reverts to the way it was before. ICBM tech turns into another tech of your choice, of equivilant budget expenditure (for example, maybe you have fertilization tech and Turkey is producing large amounts of crops).

 

Of course if that was going to happen, then the damage from the ICBMs would have to be reversed, since you used them already, so you wouldn't be able to get a refund on them. Of course on the bright side you knocked me out of the game, which I think was your goal.

To save Rocco from quitting, I think he should get an interesting tech that I haven't thought of in compensation for the ban on ICBMs. Of course I'm still hoping Sere can overturn the wtfpwn on Japan, so I can come back and play again. If I do get to play again, I'll stop my imperialising, since it seems to lead to situations where I can't check on my country often enough.

If you weren't, you wouldn't be bothering getting teh damage reversed, since it's going to take up the same amount of your time up either way.

 

I'm pretty close to quitting as well. Banning ICBMs is absurd. And Australian missile defenses for missiles which can't actually reach me! Wow!

C'mon, he paid for it and stuff and then used it. It was deemed to powerful and is no longer allowed, [cabbage] happens in life and you can't just have a fair way to handle it. I can't remember this game ever being fair, if your going to bawwquit then you're obviously a sore loser. Seriously c'mon, what about the people who had missile defenses (though they are still slightly useful). Your remaining ICBM's can be dismantled and used for other resources, the technology can be used for similar techs like rocketry or explosives.

It's still one of the superpowers economy wise, I'm sure a world effort will go into rebuilding, I'd say near 8-10 years repair. Then your back, everyone loves you cause you got through a tough time and in the end you come out better.

That's not the issue.

 

I couldn't deal with a war when I was busy, since they were still attacking me. I was already dealing with the damage, but war takes up a lot more time than rebuilding.

You actually stopped most of the missiles. Also, being scared to fight is realistic. It's why countries in real life don't invade because "I want moar land."

 

The only way the plan would have worked is with ICBMs. Even together, we had little chance of victory without them.

Besides, countries normally don't invade random places because of the international repercussions. Not generally because they'd be nuked.

Except that if Hegemony was in the scenario of the cold war, it would be no fun at all. Not to mention, being very violent people, the world would end within a minute. :thumbsup:

I do not agree with that. I was involved because I thought Retech was becoming too powerful, too quickly. The 30% GDP loss was my very much desired outcome, and I don't want to give that up.
