Sometimes it really irks me when someone yells "O M G S A F E R!" when I eat at 240 hp, especially after they just hit 250 with their rune scimitar, or if I eat at 300 hp and they're 99 range and 99 strength (with a high probability of hitting 300+ in the space of two turns).

 

It ticks me off even worse when they yell "safe", and they do the exact same thing... or they "safe because you are". Shut up, filthy hypocrite. After fighting someone who was particularly vocal about it, I went back, and commentated on his next fight, saying the same things - omg so-and-so safes... check out that safe.... nom nom nom eat up safer... etc. It was pretty gratifying to watch them skip eating to get me to shut up, and then die immediately after.

 

I also think its pretty stupid when they call me a safer after they red-bar me; I didn't safe, you're just unlucky.

I found that the most fun I ever had pking was during the mu glitch, everyone had public and private turned off. They couldn't say anything stupid.

People need to realize that PKing is technically a free-for-all so you can do whatever you want and all of these so called "rules" are just to help protect those that can't properly PK.

No, the "so-called" rules of PKing are a unspoken code amongst the so called hardcore (I prefer to call them three year olds) Who think everyone has to play by those rules...

 

I could be wrong, but your average Player-killer tends ato average around thirteen years of age, In my experience, and talking to the local Highschool counselor Teenagers have an imminent sense of justice and "fairness" Naturally there will be whining about how you own them....

With kids its because they have this feeling of godliness because they go through PvE and own the mindless goblins and other NPCs whose strategy consists of nothing more than bashing your over the head with a weapon until someone runs out of HP (er...constitution?). When they finally start fighting players and realize that they are fighting someone with a brain stem, they get pissed because that person is eating, using tactics, and outsmarting them. They want the person to stand there and die, essentially.

 

This is why Tip.It saw a flux of "omg reverants are overpowered" (Yes, I misspelled it for effect) threads in the two years following their introduction. Players expect abundant NPCs (By abundant I mean non-boss) to be mindless and stupid, and since the revenants are among Jagex's most intelligent NPCs (Eating, speccing, tele-blocking, and more), these kiddies are at a loss for what to do.

 

Also: Say what you want about Gidion, one thing he is not is subtle. Keep killing them, let them fume while they're in Lumbridge

Well written. But I wouldn't turn chat off if I were you. Its more comic than anything else and they actually waste precious time in the chat and lose focus.

You should have a pre-written insult waiting to be delivered at a crucial moment in the fight. You get two great hits in a row, push enter, "nice safing nerd," and watch as they attempt to respond and die because they didn't eat.

But seriously, I completely agree with the OP. To me, there are three tiers of PKers: tier 3 is warriors in full rune who expect other people to fight like they do; tier 2 is hybrids who pick on the warriors and better understand that PKing is not about a made-up "honor code"; tier 1 consists of tribrids and switchers who disregard all rules and DOMINATE anyone who isn't fighting like they do. Though I'm not a PKer, it's extremely exciting to see that PKing has finally gotten to this point where people are utilizing all three combat styles equally and using actual SKILL to fight. I'm talking about tribrids, of course.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you tribrid, right Gidion? I figured because you mentioned that you use void, though I know it's not just used by tribrids.

It has nothing to do with that. If a pker can pressure you in any way to not safe or farcast, you are easier to kill, giving them an advantage. I think most pkers don't really care about the justice of it all; they just want it to be easier to kill you.

thats not what this rant is about, as most 'honor pking' is just common sense

 

you get more kills if you safe less in f2p, if you don't get kills - you're bad

 

no such thing as safing in p2p - I can 1 hit/combo people [high spec+venge] thus i assume everyone else can, if you cant and need to spam 'safer' to get kills then you're bad

 

if you cant afford a good enough weapon to get kos, then you're bad

 

same for prayer, if you both pray - nobody gets a kill, and you're bad

 

havn't seen anyone tele from bh for a while tbh, and in pvp you're just as likely to tele into a k0 than you are to escape one - if this is an issue for you, ditch venge for tb [or you are bad]

 

if you dont have a set of d'hide and a xbow to deal with farcasters, then you're bad
