I like Sonic because the characters in the games seem better to me.

Oh as far as the topic goes I think Sonic is the cooler character but Mario has enjoyed a more stable set of releases.

You could argue that everything "new" Sonic did, Mario did first. 2D scrollers, 3D adventures, racing games, party games, you name it.

I prefer both. Sonics wide variety of character's personalities and Mario's Game styles.

Thats is a spin-off, not a mario game <_<
