Amulet of fury

Featured Replies

Is a merch clan making the fury rise like crazy or is it just some random spike for no reason? Mainly just want to know if a merch cc is involved in it.

No jagex made it so you can't sell runes to the store to get tokkul.

That was a long time ago I mean the recent spike. It's risen about 3m in like 5 days.

the supply is probably running out, sense theres no new furys coming into the game.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

Combination of short supply due to silly moves by Jagex and merchanting.

My gut feeling is that Jagex will very soon change the amount of tokkul required to get onyx, since they said late last year that they would be monitoring the situation and adjusting if necessary (and it is).

I feel exactly the same way.

Agreed it does need to be changed. I mean the fury is good but it's not 11m good....

Thanks for the replies just making sure it isn't a manipulation clan causing the recent spike.

The only way to buy a Fury other then from another player, is to save up tokkul from monster drops, and this would take ages, you would have to camp tzharr for weeks. The short supply after the update to tokkul was made has been caught up by the demand. Personally I would I go and buy a Fury now, because unless Jagex does something, they will just keep on going up and up.

I like the price of furys as it is. It's way better than everything else, and it deserves to have a high cost. Killing Tzhaars is fairly profitable, so if a low level wants an uncut onyx, all they have to do it just safely range away for a couple weeks and get 2.7M tokkul, all the while making about 200k gp/hour from normal drops. A high level can get 2.7M tokkul in around 30 hours, which makes it about 400k gp/hour not counting other drops + good exp. I don't see how it's very overpriced. It's tedious, but not overpriced.

For the effort required, I agree, fury is not overpriced at all.

But for the benefits of the fury over the glory, I think we can all agree it is.

If you would like to see a price spike and IMO a tell tale sign that a merc clan has been manipulating, then please take a look at the price on kyatt fur:

That could have also been due to 2x exp weekend. Everyone wanted to train summoning and needed kyatt pouches, which weren't buying at max. Since pouches were going up, so did the furs.

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

Not necessarily. Being the best amulet in the game (overall), it's somewhat difficult to compare to lesser jewelry.

Yes, now i come to think of it, that could very well be the reason also - to be honest i haven't looked at the date, but it might coincide with the days leading up to the 2x EXP. weekend.

Well, even though it is the best, there's a very fine line between it an the second best piece of equipment. You really have to think whether or not 11M is worth a few stat increases.

Well it doesn't matter anymore... Made this to check if I should sell fury before a merch clan did but I just dced at iron dragons, prayer ran out and lost 49/80m of my bank so... Not buying a fury with only a 30m bank.

Nothing wrong with super priced items

Take a look at godswords, and elysians

The fury is afterall, the best item of its kind. With only minor competition in a few fields.

I think its pricetag is appropriate.

It was a stupid move for Jagex to have tweaked it to what it is now.

But i don't see anything wrong with just letting furies stabilize.

The difference in defence bonuses between a fury and a glory is less than the defence bonuses between a set of dharoks and a set of veracs armor. Whether the fury is worth it depends on how much you value your stat bonuses. You're essentially paying 1 million for each stat bonus in all of the categories. The difference isn't nearly enough to be immediately noticeable, however it will obviously make a difference in the long run, since small prayer bonus points do make a difference and +12 defensive bonuses aren't that small either. In my opinion it isn't really worth it unless you're in a situation where you really need all the defence or prayer you can get, and have the money to spare.

saw this coming a while ago, bought mine for 9.5

if it keeps rising at this rate tho, jagex will probably step in and mess around some more.

I pretty much agree with this. I just wish that the Karamja Gloves 2 still had an effect on the price, maybe lowering it by 200-500k tokkul?

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

The problem with this argument is that anyone who can get 2.7 megatokkuls in 30 hours can earn over 1 million an hour doing other things. Do the math and you'll see where furies are going to end up, and that's prior to any scumbag merch clans manipulating them.
