Clue drop rate?

Featured Replies

Is it the same for all monsters? Or do some drop more often than others?

It would appear that some drop them more often then others. Hell hounds would be one example.

A tip if your trying to get lots of clues, do slayer. You should generally get one every 2-3 tasks, sometimes even one a task.

I'd say that the drop rates are different for each monster. For example, I've killed ~200 turoths consistently without getting a clue, but I usually get one within 80 green dragon kills.

Sig by me, in MS paint, but I'm still working on it.

Suggestions appreciated

This guide is as concise as a gourmet's handbook with the guidelines of "Pick up fork, stab food, insert into your mouth, then chew".

clue drops are said to be completely random regardless of the monster you kill.

Got one lvl 3 clue off of 3 slayer tasts: Gargoyles, Waterfiends, Gargoyles. Over 700 kills, got it on literally the last one. FML. I usually do jellies if i solely want clues, hellhounds if jellies aren't feeling me that day. Slayer is a good option, and green dragons are good aswell, not as good as the first three imo, especially since they are grossly overpopulated.

What if I don't want level 3 clues, but want level 2 clues? What monster should I hunt?

Staurolite.png

For level two's without concern or money spent to get, I imagine cannoning dagganoths would be fastest. Level two's really aren't sought after because, i assume, the relative rarity of them compared to level ones, and that they take longer to complete and the reward is generally very poor without treasure trail drops.

All monsters that drop clues have the same drop rate. So just kill whatever you can kill fastest.

Hellhounds seem like they do because its their only drop, and since most people who do kill them bank more frequently than a person killing, say, abyssal demons.

I remember back when I had a lot of jelly tasks and clues seemed around 1 in 100 or 150, usually at least one per task. This is a lot more often than, say, fire giants, which only seem to give them once every few tasks. So I'm only a tiny sample size, but I've definitely noticed some drop clues more than others.

EDIT: I see the hallucinations have kicked in. D:

Disclaimer: The above is probably inaccurate.

someone told me black demons drop clues, I'm too lazy to look at the bestiary atm, but all I know is I've never gotten one from them, so if they do, they have a horrible drop rate

Anyways, in a solid day of slayer, i'll get 3-5 clues in a day, so I say just do that. Don't really go monster killing just for clues. Just let them come when they do.

I usually get 1-2 per slayer task, assuming it's a monster that drops clues of course.
