August 29, 201312 yr Plasti dipped the rims today. Began to hate the chrome....to flashy. This saved me about $1000 by not having to buy new wheels. Pic was taken before I cleaned up the tires after spraying. Blacked out the side markers and got the windows tinted as well.
April 27, 201412 yr Haven't posted here in ages... Anyways, the 86 will be getting a new engine soon to replace the one I wore down with agressive autocrossing.... 4age bigport 7 rib with yamaha 600r bike carbs and megajolt ignition. Almost fully rebuilt by yours truely using a mix of toyota and aftermarket parts. HOPEFULLY I don't mess up the break in... Not done yet though....
August 8, 201411 yr Demby that makes me happy. I recently sold my beloved miata and bought a 2001 BMW 330i. August 9, 201411 yr Sounds Awesome Hugger. Wow seeing this thread again made me think about what happened to my car last month. Someone backed into my car, although they were honest enough to not run away. Still, it pissed me off. Pictures follow. Still cost $1550 CAD, covered by insurance. When it happened: After having it fixed. Just like new.

I never really liked the look of the "older" 3's much for some reason. But i'm starting to like them more and more. They just seem... idk a bit more rugged or something. Some of the newer 6 and 7's just seem too delicate. Like they're meant for a diplomat and not for the average Joe. My dream car: I'm currently "stuck" with this. Bought it in the US. I used to have a 2006 Explorer (which i fricken loved) and i wanted to import it, but you can't import cars older than 5 years iirc (unless they're like 40 years old and meant to be "show cars" or something like that). So i had to sell it. Couldn't get the price i was looking for. I think the book value was something like $6k at the time but it was in mint condition. I originally bought it from a lady that pretty much just used it for carpooling. Had low mileage for the year too. So i didn't really want to drop too much below $6k. Best offer i got was around $4k iirc. Took it to the ford dealer and they told me if i traded it in, i can pick up the Mustang for an $25k. Was a 2012 with relatively low mileage too. So i figured it was a pretty solid deal. Not fond of the colour of the roof, but that's a minor detail i suppose. I'm currently saving up for that M3.

And where did you have the mustang imported to? I know overseas mustangs are VERY hard to come by. I had a military friend take his 2008 automatic GT mustang with him to japan and sold it for the equivalent of $55,000 USD. We get mustangs here, for more or less the same price as they are in the US (i think about 5-10% more). Mustangs are pretty popular here too. If you buy a used one though you're not likely to get a good deal. People here drive their cars really hard, especially if it's something like a Charger, Challenger, Mustang, Camaro, etc. You'll be buying a 2 year old car with a 5 year old engine.

January 2, 201511 yr I just bought a new car. I got a 2002 Pontiac Firehawk, 1 of 1500 made. It has a 5.7L V8 LS1 with 345hp. It's an absolute blast to drive, and a huge upgrade from my old car :) Here's an album with some good pics, pics of it next to my old car, a red Hyundai Tiburon, and at home in my parking garage. http://imgur.com/a/IvKMC

February 16, 201511 yr For those of you who drive stick, how did you learn? Driving a manual seems more fun and the cars are cheaper, but I have no family or friends who could teach me.
February 16, 201511 yr For those of you who drive stick, how did you learn? Driving a manual seems more fun and the cars are cheaper, but I have no family or friends who could teach me.I basically just got in the driver's seat and gave it a go. I knew all the basics (as i assume you do). I knew about having to step on the clutch before shifting, so from there it's pretty simple. EDIT: My dad came home with brochures for a Viper this afternoon. Think he might be having a mid-life crisis. The only reason i would really approve of this purchase is if he was to allow me to drive it, but i can't see that happening. A few years back when he had a Maserati he allowed me to drive it once, and never again. We were on the highway and i pretty much tried to push the car (and my dad, for that matter) to the limit. Never seen my dad turn so pale. Also, a friend of my dad bought an old Ford Pickup about a year and a half ago. If i remember correctly it was like a 1940's model or something. From what i remember he spent about $150k on the car after buying it. Put in a V8, kept everything as authentic as possible, etc. I saw it this weekend when they came over. Damn... what a beautiful pickup.
