jasignhagj Posted February 26, 2013 Share Posted February 26, 2013 A year and a half ago, my company built two LNG (liquified natural gas) depots for a trucking company; one in Montreal and one in Toronto. About 1/3 of their fleet are LNG powered trucks now. It's cheaper than diesel fuel, and delivers more power but they can't go quite as far. They're currently planning to build two more depots between the two they already have so they can replace more trucks and have them make the entire run back and forth. So far those are the only two I know of in Canada, but from what I understand it's a big thing in California. In Winnipeg some of our new garbage trucks use natural gas. I believe it's a more natural gas as Spork is talking about. One of my old co-worker's dad's owns the company, but I think they were selling it more for the purposes of heating and light generation(?) than transportation. I'm not completely opposed to older cars, I really like the look of older BMW's, starting in the early 90s. They seem to get better looking as they get older. Before I bought mine, I thought of getting something like a 70s Mercedes SL or bmw, but the biggest thing that turned me off was the interior. I like having my new leather and sunroof, with all the current electronics and gadgets. I'm doing a restore job on it as finding stock "N14 Pulsar SSS AUS Spec" are neer impossible as they were either used in races in the early 90's, thus having mechanical issues, or thrashed by teen drivers. So it holds its value very well if kept in prime stock condition, especially the rims.
