Surprisingly only has 39k miles on it, and it won 2nd place at a car-show before we did any work to it. Have it for just about a year now! It is an 84. I own both now and my Toyota has died in the middle of the road from neglect, so has my VW. Some cars take abuse in certain ways better than other cars and some fair worse. Old ones weren't at all, that's why Fiat pulled out of the U.S. all those years ago. Does anyone do any restoring of old or beat-up cars? It's intrigued me recently...My dad is really into it, but doesn't have the space or time right now for a project. We've both put time in on friends cars though... As for my own car, I love it, it might have been in the familly for 11 years but it still looks pretty awesome for it's age. 3 years since I bought it from my parents and I put an average of $100/year in repairs. Also passed the 300 000 Km mark last week. [hide] A couple of weeks ago we had a snowstorm that dropped 45cm of snow, it had already started melting before the following picture lol. Besides that, you must be very satisfied with that car considering the mileage that it has and the amount of repairs you don't do on it. Just remember though, that car is actually making you money because you have to put gas in any car, so as long as repairs stay below 300-400 dollars a month then you're ahead because that 300-400 dollars is a payment on a new car :thumbsup: . Even the economy of gas this car gives me saves me money, I spent around $60 on gas in feb, which I found pretty impressive, but then again I didn't use the car a lot in feb. There's a difference. Still, such low amounts in repairs might go up in the near future, seeing as the clutch is starting to slip (has been for a good while, but it doesn't seem to be getting worse), the current set of brakes were already on the car when I bought it, probably going to need replacement soon seeing as I've done around 70 000 Km on them, I just have to see if they pass the inspection in august, and I'm starting to hear a leak somewhere on the exhaust pipe, which has already been patched multiple times, as well as loose pieces in the muffler. Even with that, this car was an extremely good buy. Getting a new car will be my priority though when I get out of college and find another job.
