as i see it besides knowing how on gleniour i am to pronounce ardougen, and adding a bit of depth, it will do nuthing but still take an overly long and hard efort just to do this even to a small exstent.

as thay sayd, thay cant use your name but man how many times have i ran in to npc's saying my name? at least 3 today alone :mellow:

i wouldent mind it, but something betwen a sound efect and a voise (makeable without haveing to get voise actors) would probably be easyer to do.

For those curious about pronunciations, this postbag from the hedge tackled some of them, including the infamous Ardougne :o!

Oh and to SirHemen, I loved the Heavenly Sword game. This narrator isn't bad but I thought Nariko's voice actor had beautiful emotion in her voice. Don't think any of them come cheap though :P! I think the guy who played Golem in LOTR even voice acted for that game...

My dear Antend,

I have, in the past, been called on to answer many pronunciation questions. This time round, I have decided to round up the twistiest of all the tongue-twisters, in an effort to answer potential future questions:

* Al Kharid = Al-car-rid

* Ardougne = Arr-doyn

* Burgh de Rott = Bur-der-rot

* Karamja = Ker-ram-jar

* Meiyerditch = My-err-ditch

* Morytania = Morry-tay-nee-ah

* Phasmatys = Faz-mat-iss

* Jatizso = Yah-tizz-so

* Neitiznot = Nay-tizz-not

* Sanguinesti = Sang-gwin-nest-ee

* Yanille = Yah-neel

The elvish language, on the other hand, is far more complex, for their tongues are as agile as their minds, and twice as bewildering. The nearest approximations I can make are as follows:

* Lletya = *Ch*let-uh-ah (the '*ch*' indicates a slight rolling of the sound at the base of the tongue, as if you were to attempt to clear your throat quietly and politely)

* Isafdar = Iss-av-daarr (in which the 'I' is pronounced like the 'i' in 'thin', and the 'r' is rolled quaintly)

In general, however, I merely pronounce 'Lletya' as 'Let-ya', and 'Isafdar' as 'Iss-aff-daar', but one should always be aware of other cultures - if only to know when you've angered someone enough to make them contemplate running you through with a large and unpleasantly bladed implement!

Yours perspicaciously,

Reldo

If they're going to implement voice acting in Runescape, they should only do it to quest cutscenes and stuff.

It would be really annoying to hear voices in normal play, though that's just me. <_<

:thumbup:

Yep, totally agree. Doing the whole thing would take years (imagine the time just to LISTEN to every piece of dialogue in game, not even to record it)

Cutscenes, won't take TOO much effort, but will have a fantastic effect.

Super nanny as Sandwich Lady plox.

That will give me a bigger urge to punch the screen... and it totally fits haha.

It's "Lol", because you think that i am wrong, but you have not tried to prove it. But to write it more correctly this time:

I think many great voice actors are within Anime field.
